5.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I don't watch TV or follow Tucker Carlson. But I've seen lots of his segments on-line.
He's an interesting character. I think part of the reason is, he's more of a Ron Paul-style, right-libertarian than a party line Republican.
Carlson can get away with being independent because he has the most widely watched news program on the air. He makes piles of money for Fox, so I think they let him slide.
He's not the brightest bulb, and I've seen him act like an ass hole at times. But I also see him try to think. He has interviewed some surprising guests from the left and treated them with respect. He actually listens and finds common ground, rather than sticking to official talking points.
So I give credit where credit is due. He is about the only msm news host who brings up information and points of view that diverge from the official narrative. He exposes almost 3 million people to useful information on occasion.
So yes, I give him props. He deserves encouragement.12 Reply- +1 y
I'm sure that I disagree with him a lot, too, Juxtapose. As I said, it's not like I tune in to watch him.
But I have tremendous respect these days for his bringing forth great info about the covid thing. People who get their info exclusively from msm NEED that info. Unless people refuse to comply, we're fucked.
He occasionally exposes government lies and criticizes both parties. And he is anti-war. So he's probably the best there is on msm these days, which ain't saying much.
Msm is designed to be an echo chamber that manufactures a false sense of consensus. The goal is to discourage the public from thinking at all.

+1 yI believe anyone who makes an effort to play Devil's Advocate to try and fully understand a difference of opinion by following a different path or paths of logical conclusions other than their own deserves credit. We are sometimes far too polarized in our own point of view, or believe that there are only two sides to everything. There are many shades of grey between the black and white. Sometimes as many as fifty, so I'm told...

Yeah, but it's the same ol' song and dance. We're all busy being cogs (which has both benefits and shortcomings), occupied by entertainment, and one way or another, bureaucracy keeps us all employed. It's like we all perpetually exist in a giant DMV building.
- +1 y
Actually, that's part of the perpetual problem. It IS sustainable.
- +1 y
Yes. Crises (especially when exaggerated) = entertainment, and entertainment = money. Plus the entertainment acts as the public distraction from the crises and money trail. It's a perfect circle.
- +1 y
@Juxtapose I would also give credit to Carlson for having Tulsi Gabbard on a number of times. I never watch any of the news channels on television, but I'll watch some random segments on YouTube from time to time. I like humor with my politics, so I find Greg Gutfeld and Bill Maher entertaining. The parody makes it tolerable.

00 Reply 910 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Yes he does but he is still part of the mainstream media and is influenced by the company, the owners and the business partners of the company. He might be doing a slightly better job than other tv journalists but that's not enough in my opinion. Honestly the media is in terrible shape.
I think Brexit is an interesting example because it shows how the media works pretty well. Some people say it's controlled by a global elite but if that were true British media would be more biased towards the EU point of view. But instead they just pander to whatever people want to read. Often blaming the EU and not accepting any responsibility for how Brexit turned out. Its just about selling their product and they will pander to whoever they need to to make sure they make money.
I'm glad I quit watching the news because the whole thing is just a mess. I used to watch Jimmy Dore quite a bit I think he's one of the best doing news online but the constant negativity in the news is just not good for me. In the times that I didn't watch the news nothing has really affected my life except for Covid and you will hear about stuff like that without watching any news because it's just everywhere.
Just focusing on my life is quite enough for me :)02 Reply- 6.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.

cool than you are a toxic male and should be avoided if you think what jimmy told ana was something to be cheered on.

doesn't excuse his comments towards her

SHE'S lucky?
lol wow dude - +1 y
Hold on here... some woman flashed her snatch at a co-worker, and HE got in trouble and fired? That's double standard hypocrisy bullshit. If any guy flashed his junk at work, he'd not only be fired, he'd be in JAIL.
- +1 y
@NYCQuestions1976 for his inappropriate comments yes
- +1 y
@Juxtapose
i bet you you've probably made dumb horny comments toward a woman and thought you were cool - +1 y

nothing here excuses his comments. here he is BRAGGING about it like the asshole he is - +1 y
@NYCQuestions1976 Jimmy was never fired. Shows how much Still-alive knows on this, seeing as he said "yes" to you
- +1 y
this is you guys right now
- +1 y
Fired or not, the dude still got in trouble for the comment, but she didn't get in trouble at all? That's still an unacceptable double standard.
- +1 y
thats because jimmy's got a ton of blind followers who will harass people that dare say anything negative about him
- +1 y
@Juxtapose @Still-alive Let's just face reality here, Men. If he said nothing and just turned away after she flashed her meat curtains, the story would be "Guy Shuns Female Co-worker, Facing Termination".
- +1 y
@NYCQuestions1976 You won't see Still here acknowledge that.
I have proven right here that you do not need censorship to *destroy* idiocy. He has hung himself right in front of you. - +1 y
@NYCQuestions1976 Funny thing is..
Ana was his BOSS. - +1 y
lol yes i follow vaush. he's wayyy better at arguing and articulating his points way better then your hero jimmy can
- +1 y
@Juxtapose Well then that's actually sexual harassment on her part, because she had the power in that situation.
@Still-alive I'm not suggesting that the dude shouldn't be reprimanded for his comment, but it's still just a comment. She EXPOSED herself, and his comment was a reaction following her exposure. - +1 y
@NYCQuestions1976 sure maybe she should've been asked to go home and change. but @Juxtapose is basically meming himself with the "se was asking for it" defense. thats bullshit lol
- +1 y
@NYCQuestions1976 Yep! Jimmy gets sexually harassed BY HIS BOSS (he was uncomfortable) but somehow Ana is the victim.
Clown world! HONK HONK!
- +1 y
@Still-alive This is also not about what she was wearing. She EXPOSED herself at WORK. It's not an episode of Baywatch.
- +1 y
@Juxtapose
YES when you make lewd comments towards someone that makes the other person a victim. if he had a problem with her dress he should have talked to her in private about it instead of making a huge scene about it - +1 y
I'm going to get a job at Hooters and lay my nut sack next to the frozen margarita machine while wearing a shirt that says in big block letters, "ANA SAID IT WAS FINE".
- +1 y
@NYCQuestions1976 ok you do you. i know what my position is here. is people have a problem with her dress. say it in private or go to hr about it. don't make lewd comments or joke about it.
- +1 y
Obviously I'm injecting some humor into the situation. Clarify one thing: Was her exposure deliberate or accidental?
- +1 y
@NYCQuestions1976 maybe it was deliberate. and again im not saying it was inappropriate or not... but if it was there was a much much better way of handling it than what jimmy did. and its pretty bad when he brags about it for all his loyal followers too.
- +1 y
@NYCQuestions1976 Accidental but how accidental can it be when you are bending over without underwear while wearing a short skirt?
- +1 y
nope thats not a good enough reason for him to act like he enjoyed doing what he did. which he sure seems like it
- +1 y
Well in an effort to play Devil's Advocate as I was touting in my own response, if it was accidental, I'm trying to figure out what would be the female equivalent of "Your fly is open." or just "Your fly." in that situation. I work in the construction industry, so it's not an uncommon occurrence. Of course we also wear underwear, so I get it's not exactly the same. Admittedly, it's an odd situation.
Just for full disclosure, I've never watched a moment of any of these people. However, my common sense response would be this: The dude's comment was unnecessary, but not necessarily obnoxious. Even if he said nothing in the moment and went to human resources, you can't tell me there isn't a chance it would've been turned into, "Why were you looking up her skirt?" However, him bragging about it afterwards is definitely highly obnoxious.
As for her, how short does a skirt with no underwear have to be for something like that to happen, accidentally or on purpose? It takes some deliberate manual effort and planning (no underwear) for something like that to happen, especially in front of someone. Sorry, but in no way, shape, or form is she a victim here. - +1 y
@NYCQuestions1976 she is partly a victim of his comments. if he had said nothing she wouldn't be a victim.
- +1 y
@NYCQuestions1976 I told you he hung himself right before your eyes.
by the way Jimmy Dore disparaged her because she was trying to blackmail him years later for political motivations. - +1 y
"by the way Jimmy Dore disparaged her because she was trying to blackmail him years later for political motivations. "
his comments are highly inappropriate. he should have explained what happened and NOT bragged about it in the way that he did. it just astounds me that you can't see this - +1 y
lol excellent. while you are a toxic male then
- +1 y
@Still-alive That's not necessarily true, because the comment was in reaction to her exposing herself. Her actions and behavior were inappropriate for a work environment. If I wore a kilt with no underwear in an office environment and bent over in front of people, I'd be arrested.
- +1 y
@NYCQuestions1976 right you'd be arrested but if anyone made comments toward you for it you'd be a victim of THAT specific action in that scenario
- +1 y
@Still-alive Maybe, but that's really a tough sell. If you rob a bank, and I make a snarky comment about the robbery and you afterwards, are you really a victim in that situation?
- +1 y
@NYCQuestions1976 again im not saying she's the victim period... just the victim of his comments towards her. the best way to handle that situation again was to just talk to her in private about it or talke to cenk or something. NOT make a scene of it in front of people.
So if you wanna think of what im saying another way THEY ARE BOTH WRONG. - +1 y
@Still-alive Playing Devil's Advocate again, if he had done what you said, you don't think there's a chance that the narrative would've somehow been flipped into him harassing her? How would that conversation go in private?
"Hey Ana... I just wanted you to know that I, uh, accidentally saw your vagina today."
Unless there's a number of witnesses, there's no way that ends well for him. As for the aftermath where he's bragging to listeners or followers or watchers or whatever, that part I agree with you. That's obnoxious behavior. - +1 y
@NYCQuestions1976 ""Hey Ana... I just wanted you to know that I, uh, accidentally saw your vagina today.""
well don't word it like that obviously but more like. "hey i think you're dressed a bit inappropriate today"
and by the way i just read more into this and apparently this comment was made while she was trying to teach a class. yeahh - +1 y
@Still-alive I believe that you're overlooking the potential fallout from any different way that situation was handled, even if he did and said everything "correctly".
"Hey Ana... I think you're dressed a bit inappropriate today."
"Why are you looking at my body and paying attention to the way I'm dressed?"
I'm telling you, it's potentially a no-win scenario for him... and I don't believe in no-win scenarios. - +1 y
@NYCQuestions1976 ok then maybe have this conversation with cenk in the room too.
- +1 y
I still don't believe that it would play out the way you believe it should.
- +1 y
@NYCQuestions1976 even with another person in the room?
- +1 y
Who's the additional person? Is it a guy? Great. Niw it's two guys potentially "harassing" her. Is it a girl? Okay. Good idea to have another female in the room for the conversation... but how does the pre-conversation go? "Hey... we need to talk to Ana about something. She exposed her vagina to me/him/her/us/them." That should be a smooth revelation to make with another female employee. Where do the dominoes end?
I'm telling you... no matter how you believe that it should play out based on some pamphlet or textbook or anti-harassment seminar, it's almost never going to play out that way. - +1 y
@NYCQuestions1976 and how do you know this?
- +1 y
Murphy's Law, life experience, logical conclusion, common sense, educated guess. All the above.
- +1 y
@NYCQuestions1976 ok post an example of this happening badly. Also any stats you have is welcome too.
- +1 y
This story that we've been discussing is an example itself. She didn't get charged with anything, she didn't get fired, she didn't get fined, and she didn't get suspended. At the most, maybe she's embarrassed. Maybe. Again, if it had been a guy that had done the same thing she did, it'd be some form of "game over" for him.
- +1 y
Ok lets go with it for a bit what should he have done if he has a problem here? Was making fun of her in front of her students his only option?
- +1 y
If a guy had done the same exact thing that she did, and a girl made fun of him immediately afterwards, no one would care what the girl said, because everyone would be focused on the crime the guy committed. The same should apply here.
- +1 y
@NYCQuestions1976 im not saying thats ok either but again is this the ONLY thing he could have done here?
- +1 y
There's a myriad of things he could've said or done. It really doesn't matter. Making fun of someone might be distasteful, but it's not a crime.
- +1 y
@NYCQuestions1976 its very distasteful and him and him bragging about it is shameful
- +1 y
She tried blackmailing him with a lie. They've also attacked Tulsi Gabbard a number of times in the past. Especially Kasparian. Let them devour one another. I'm in victory formation on this one and letting the clock run out.
- +1 y
@NYCQuestions1976 lol ok brp
