Ill take the one who is educated enough to actually know their own flag. I mean seriously, for someone who pushes the idea of preserving their heritage and history they sure as hell miss the big things.. like the primary motivations.. and the fucking flag..

That said, unlike you I have actually read some of the literature your military produced regarding civil wars and I got some bad news for you. First of all, prepare for a long one. Chances are you are going to enjoy the better part of 10 years in conflict. Secondly, its going to be terrible. People who experience a civil war, regardless of their prior enthusiasm for it rarely want to do it again or thought it was a good idea, its a thing that sounds better on paper than in reality.
But my favorite part is that neither side in a civil war generally survives it. In other words, both the sides you are thinking of is likely to fall apart before the end and a completely new side will take center stage by the end of it.
Lastly, civil wars generally dont solve anything. You pretty much always get a worse government after a civil war than the one you started with and the country will become much weaker.
So yeah.. go for it. I dont mind hurrying along the fall of USA as a first world country.

There are some instances in history which even a long, bloody civil war was best, assuming your side wins. Sure, it's best avoided, if possible, but sometimes it isn't.

What truly disturbs me however is how you think a civil war is going to be "good". Why not just have s non violent dissolution of the union into smaller successor states. Democracy breaks down over distance. City states are simpler to administer and less prone to corruption.
