Any idiot can get people to do what they want already want to do, a real leader gets people to do what they don't want to do. A strong leader takes responsible, Biden knew he'd get a lot of flak for pulling out but he stood up and done it then took the hit. It'll probably cost him his career but he knows sometimes you have to take the fall to get things done.
All Trump would have done is hold rallies and tweet.
Ok Afghanistan is going up shit creek but why waste time on an irrelevant country fighting an unwinnable war. You can only bail out a sinking boat so long before you have to give up and let it sink

It obviously takes a lot of strength to fail this bad. Boy, I'd hate to see weak leadership. Why did this strong leader, leave 15,000 American citizens behind. Why didn't he order an orderly evacuation? Why did he withdraw air support while still having ground troops. Why do we have a rising potential for a hostage crisis? You have to be a special kind of stupid to think any part of this was brave. Even Obama managed to do an orderly retreat from Iraq. He fucked that up in the end, but the retreat was orderly, because he left air power in place and let the generals who know how to do such things do their job. This was a colossal fuck up, of the highest order.

A lady was shot in Kabul yesterday because she was only wearing a hijab. The taliban went on British media and said only hijabs would be required. They lied. You think the 15,000 Americans still stuck when the military picked up and left, they didn't pack a thing, they didn't evacuate the citizens they hired to work there, they just left. And you think it takes strength to fuck up that bad?

This is either some high level irony or high level doublethink. Biden handed Afghanistan to the taliban on a silver platter because he's too much of a pussy to put the world's most well-funded military force to use. Taiwan will now fall to the Chinese with no resistance, and who knows what will fall next. ISIS and Al Quaeda and other terrorist factions will be bolstered by this taliban victory. There will be ushered in a new era of terror, and what's happening in middle East today will land on the West's doorstep tomorrow -- either through mass migrant crisis, or mass terror plots, or both. Biden has single-handedly legitimised terrorism at a national level. At least under Trump the U. S. military bombed the everloving fuck out of various terrorist compounds and key ISIS figures. Trump wanted to wind down the American presencein Middle East over time, but not before giving local militaries the training and resources necessary to push back the taliban. Biden just pulled the plug, and 20 years of sacrifice and lives lost were swept aside and wasted.

Biden didn't screw the Taliban, he screwed every one that had worked for the US as interpreters or were in the weak Afghan Army. They withdrew and then send troops back in to help get those still alive out. And as for Biden's career being shot, he is too old and mentally questionable to be much of a leader. So taking a hit is not a big thing for causing all the Afghan deaths by withdrawing. Maybe things would have been better if his father had withdrawn?

Whether his choice was bad or a good one. One thing, he actually did something compared to the 20 years of just let's drop bombs. Every president kept just dropping more bombs the last, Obama was super high then trump did even more. But clearly this wasn't working, so biden didn't do that he finally changed something.

One of the hardest things to do as a leader is admit your mistakes. Especially if you are making the same mistakes the leaders before you. Since the 1940's our leaders have repeated the same mistakes. Mistakes that lead to the 9-11 attacks and the 7-2005 London bombings. Mistakes that are likely to repeat themselves innless the citizens of the US and countries involved with us are willing to push their governments to pull out of the middle east completely. Because the cancers of the leaders of these counters being strong enough to do it themselves has been shown to simply no be there.

Even back in the 1940's our government was warn against getting involved in the middle east. These warning came from people with in our government. governments of other countries. They also came from leaders in the middle east. Because getting involved would make the citizens of the US and countries involved with us targets. It would also leaded to more unstably in the legion. Both concerns have proven themselves to be true. In the case of London and the US despite blood of their citizens being spilled far too many seem to want history to repeat its self.

Biden can be a strong leader. Chancing history repeating itself, especially when it means the death of American citizens, it does not make him strong at all.

But the problem is that withdrawal of American troops was poorly planned, it looked like escape honestly. American troops have just left advanced weapons to Taliban and ran away from Afghanistan. Withdrawing was the right decision but Trump wanted to withdraw by May so if anything, he wanted to get out faster. The problem with Biden wasn't the decision to stick with Trump's plan to withdraw, it was withdrawing protective forces before the defenseless innocents were withdrawn.
