And he recently said that he spoke with Mitterrand, the French president, at the G7. The problem is that Mitterrand died in 96.

To be sure, there is more than sufficient prima facie evidence to suggest that President Biden's mental fitness is in question. However, it would be wise, as a matter of principle, to leave those judgments to professionals under clinical conditions. It instead being wiser for the public to question the political philosophy and policies of their elected leaders.
There is an historical case for this. Until Mr. Biden, Ronald Reagan was the oldest President in American history. Suffice to add that any number of his opponents often questioned his mental fitness for office.
Yet Mr. Reagan and the policies he followed were significant and positive. The rate of inflation was brought from 13.1% in 1980 to 1.1% in 1986. The rate of unemployment was brought from 10.8% to 4.9%. The nation was able to negotiate, sign and ratify the first nuclear arms reduction treaty - note "reduction" eliminating a whole class of nuclear weapons - in history. This all, in the end, culminating in victory in the Cold War and the dissolution of the USSR.
As one wag put it, "If that is mental disability, the US government needs more mental disability." It being added that after leaving office, Mr. Reagan's mental health did deteriorate, but while in office there were occasional gaffes, but the public and the media were not equipped nor trained to judge these things.
The point being that judging mental and physical health absent a proper scientific analysis, examination and diagnosis is too apt to be a subjective and politically convenient call. I add here that I am NOT a fan of Mr. Biden.
Yet judging Mr. Biden on the basis of his political philosophy - such as it is - and his policies is the wiser course. These things can be objectively analyzed and weighed on evidence in the public realm and not on things that are not known.
Indeed, for many Biden advocates, it becomes a two part defense. One, his mental state cannot be known and two, his policies are beneficial regardless. The former cannot be refuted absent an examination and this then takes the debate out of the realm of public policy.
The American public, obsessing over their I-phones and other devices, has lost a sense of historical objectivity and made its preferences the father to its' thoughts. To be sure, as noted, there are grounds for questioning Mr. Biden's mental fitness for office. However, the failure of his policies is more than sufficient for providing evidence as to whether or not he ought be re-elected.
Apparently I've heard that the economic results aren't as bad as most Americans seem to think. I read this from a former ambassador
"For the past two years, unemployment in the United States has been below 4%. Excellent growth forecasts are constantly being revised upwards. Inflation is going down without a recession, yet Americans think Biden's management of the economy is bad. "
Well yes, only a professional is qualified to judge that, I'm just wondering.
As far Mr. Biden's economic record, I made no comment. However, it is less than meets the eye.
Unemployment is lower - but the labor participation rate is lower as well. This meaning that the low unemployment rate does not mean the same thing as it meant during the Trump years, for example. (Comparing to earlier periods is even more problematic given the changes in the demographic structure of the US population since the 1950s.)
Inflation has improved, but again, the standard is not comparable. Prices are down from the levels they reached at the start of the Biden presidency, but they are still about 30% higher than they were when Mr. Trump was sworn in. (I say this as NO FAN of Mr. Trump.)
The problem is that the pandemic means that the numbers don't quite mean what they meant, so to speak. It is the reality underlying those numbers that is why Mr. Biden does not get more credit. Inflation pre-pandemic and inflation post-pandemic are different things.
These nuances get lost in the data and news coverage. However, the realities, both good and bad, are still experienced by real people in real ways. That is why Mr. Biden is not getting the "attaboys" he and his supporters think he deserves.
Lmao. Hey, I mean…. Mitterrand/Macron…. I can MAYBE see where he confused it, just because he’s been around so long he probably had a relationship with Mitterrand too, or at least was an active politician during his time. I don’t really care about verbal gaffes, we all make them, it doesn’t indicate dementia. Trump has confused Hungary’s Orban and Turkey’s Ergodan, and claimed Hungary has a shared border with Russia🤦♂️ I think the sooner we realize all these politicians are no smarter than any of us, the better, haha.
I’d definitely like to see someone younger than Biden running, but the whole game right now revolves around fending off Trump or anyone of his agenda, and a potential alteration to our democracy. Shit is REAL serious right now. And I just want to go back to not caring, but some people over here are currently wildin’ out, so it’s all hands on deck to squash all that in hopes of getting back to NORMAL left vs right disagreement. And the fact of the matter is that, historically, an incumbent is a safer candidate than not, so in the interest of just making sure the country doesn’t succumb to Trump and MAGA, I think it’s Joe or bust.
He’s not even fit to be left alone. I don’t even think he knows his own name some days. To think he’s the president of a whole country is disturbing and it’s shocking people have voted for him and that he’s allowed to stay president. It’s ridiculous and it’s obvious he’s being used as a puppet, someone else is controlling things. He needs care but is being exploited and made fun of. And to think so many americans would rather want a person with dementia who can’t even stand up or form a proper sentence some days to run their country than someone who posts mean tweets… It’s a circus and you’re all clowns.
We all know in The USA and maybe even abroad that Biden is not fit to be a President. Dementia is getting worse and many times his wife fills in the gaf gaps. He is being strung on by Obama and his minions to run this country to the ground.

He cannot paert a bicycle straight. His policies were complete failures and the damage he caused to this country will be felt for a generation. He cannot form a compete sentence and cannot answer questions from the media. He will never debate President Trump. We now know that Hunters laptop is real so Biden will have to answer when Trump asks him who the big guy is. He cannot depend on the moderator to stop it this time. He cannot run on his record and he is obviously mentally compromised.
All the court caaes the democrats have on President Trump are falling apart. Biden is sinking weven lower in the polls. He does not have many moves left.
He is on the payroll for China, Ukraine and Iran.
Biden is basically a train wreck. Dementia, corruption and incompetence is like a democrat trifecta.
@Alex-Snow what else you got?
No, that's not a good sign. If he did that sort of thing all the time, I'd worry more. Still, he's not my first choice to run again, but he's better than getting Trump back. Trump isn't fit at all, not just since his gaffes about Pelosi, Obama and thinking Frederick Douglas was doing a great job, but he's a lunatic.
No one running on GOP side is fit either. Nikki Haley thinks the USA is not nor ever has been a racist country, and she's polling second. Let's face it - the people you might like to see as President, whoever that might be, are too smart to want the job because they know what it would be like working with the current Congress.
Of the few people in Congress I'd like to see as President, Jeff Jackson (NC) would be my choice, but he's definitely too unknown and too wise to want that! LOL
Of course he is. The problem is republicans have no policies to run on so they devote all of their time to photoshop and video editing to make it look like Bidens mental health is in question. The idea is to get people to forget the choice this November is between democracy and dictatorship so they stay home and let the fascists have what they want.
I wouldn't call Biden fit enough to lead a dog, let alone the most powerful Country in the world, and I'm talking from an unbiased viewpoint, seeing as I'm not in the US!
Some of his actions have had dire consequences for the entire planet, which despite Trump's failings would not have happened as Putin, Kim jon un (or whatever his name is) were terrified of what he would do in retaliation!
He was a good man fair patient gentle very intelligent good chess player, Biden I just have this to say why just why is he where I he is at this time in history and thank God not in charge of this nation, let him run around and say what he wants act the buffoon, only a spectacle to his self and family, him I dismiss completely don't care what he says or does, unless he gets his hands on the codes then I take notice but he won't
People joke about how Reagan was suffering cognitive decline during his second term. The issue is that he was years younger than Biden is now when he ended that term. And he was never as obviously suffering dementia as Biden is - even after retirement.
The thought of a guy who doesn't know who he's talking to controlling the biggest nuke arsenal is disturbing.
He's not fit for office
You can give a clown a crown but it doesn’t make him king. As for being fit to lead if you pay off the right doctors they’ll sign off & say anything.
No, of course not. My siblings and I are currently working through my dad's cognitive decline and he's nowhere NEAR as bad as Biden. That guy isn't fit to lead a lemonade stand at this point. But he's just a figurehead. Other people are doing pretty much everything. He's just being drugged up and told to read a teleprompter.
All I know is there is nothing on Earth more disturbing than Big Fat Trump.
We literally only let old farts run for President for some reason. So yes, under that context.
no, but neither is chrump. we've seen both, and neither were good times. birth rates were low during both regimes. people didn't trust each other, and were not healthy. thats what i use to measure how successful a regime is. are you eating healthy, are you disease free? if not, then there's a problem with the leadership
with that said though. if baiden's regime gains too much power, he should cede some of it to chrump. no side should have too much power, especially since we only have those 2 choices, and dont have a real choice, or a real champion of the people
It doesn't matter, he has advisors that can make the decisions for him. In any event, a president have to obey our masters.
He isn't fit to lead a dog on a walk, let alone lead a country. Unless the country was Lower Moronia.
Compared to Trump? It's like comparing an adult to a three-year-old.
He is not fit. The poor man needs to retire and enjoy his sunset years surrounded by a loving family, not being in charge of a nuclear arsenal.
No. Every time I see him he looks tired, confused and doesn't sound right.
Biden has lost his ability to think clearly and speak coherently.
His too old being the leader of a nation especially one like the U. S. A.
Never was, neither does he have a genuine mandate.
obviously not i can't even believe this is the best democrats can find rate now , must be so frustrating for the up and coming democrats to have to sit back and watch this go down
If anyone thinks he is, they just don’t want Trump to be president. Biden is clearly unfit in more ways than one and these people know that.
Short and sweet logic reasoning stereotyping racist hatemongering devised cranky rickety shuffle dangerous wacko I'm ex vet he has broken the military code for treason accordingly he qualifies to face a firing squad.
He's never been fit to be President, and he should now be in a nursing home.
@Avicenna
Personally I think it is elder abuse from his wife and his handlers.
If someone's grandpa acted that way and they didn't take good care of him at home or a nursing facility, it would be elder abuse. It's against the law.
What they are forcing him to do everyday is elder abuse and someone needs to make some phone calls to get him taken care of property. Instead, they just laugh at him. The man has a medical condition and there's nothing funny about it.
Honestly, no. And the idea of him trying to do another four years is ridiculous. Everyone knows it. Even the ones who deny it publicly.
Dead French president? There's your answer. He's not senile, he's trapped in a time fissure. Multiple time fissures actually.
Trump is equally if not more unfit, and there is nobody else except my cat Allister who is refusing.
@exitseven The country seems fine to me except for the Republican party melting down.
@exitseven We all miss these things, but time moves on. We will not get them back by making a mentally ill criminal our President.
@exitseven And none of his ideas are practical.
No, it's policies were not particularly effective, but more importantly, the man engaged in multiple criminal activities and because of that it's very easy to overlook anything reasonable that he did. No matter how reasonable his policies were are honestly how good they were I won't tolerate a self-aggrandizing criminal as president and most of the other people won't either.
So I think it's important to realize that as bad as Trump is and he is really bad, that does not mean that Biden is better. Biden has a long and bad history of being a warmonger and most recently he has been supporting genocide in Gaza. As far as I'm concerned, that makes him just about as much of a criminal as Trump is the only difference being that Biden's victims are not Americans apparently and Trump's victims very clearly have been Americans. If I had my choice and I don't unfortunately we would have somebody else all together or several other people all together as viable candidates for our next president. As it stands now, however, we are going to have to choose to either not vote at all, which I am seriously considering or we will choose to vote between two extremely bad choices. This is a really bad situation for all of us.
You might want to look at the additional question I just posted in response to this. For some reason or another, your question made me actually question a lot of my beliefs. I don't think your question was the only reason, but it was the thing that triggered my thinking this morning. Thank you for that.
@exitseven What to you suggest the POTUS could do to 1) change the price of gasoline at the pump 2) decrease demand or increase supply of medical services 3) change the quality of the roast beef delivered to your market?
@exitseven I agree!
I don't want to disappoint you, but Allister actually does not chew gum. He doesn't feel like it's good for his teeth. Instead, he tends to chew cat food and he is quite personal to fish bits. If you ever want to send him a present. He also tends not to walk around very much and instead just runs. On the other hand, he is an expert sleeper.
What troubles me is he was just as unfit physically and mentally at the South Carolina primary in 2019 (remember the campaigning from the basement, even before Covid?), but they say more people voted for him than any other president ever.
No, but he is better than the apparent only alternative. Who thinks Nikki Haley was in the capitol Jan. 6.
He has very severe dementia and I don't even think he knows he's the president.
C'mon. He's not fit to walk himself yet alone lead a country of about 335 MILLION!
If they’re on the ballot, then probably not.
He has Dementia. Can't walk. Falls Down. Lies. If Trump told 100.000 lies , Biden has told 1,000,000
He's completely too old and out of it to lead this country. You think his dumb oldass is actually running the country? No, he's just a fucking puppet
I don't care. Just bring back Trump, so my paycheck will go back up.
Jeff Dunham said, "I'm president and I can't get up."
He never was fit to lead this country and his abysmal performance has demonstrated that.
No, of course not
Biden’s not fit to be a walmart greeter.
just as much as Trump is.
The guy needs to retire already
More than trump
Fuck no he isn’t
No No and No
