Why do people keep trying to deify sex workers as of late? Am I the only one who thinks being a sex worker doesn't make you a good person?

I'm so sick of this sh*tty attitude in society, as of late. This is a half-question, half-rant, but I'm just going to copy-paste what I already said on the matter here:

I don't have a problem with sex workers for the most part, but you can't sell your ass out in the streets while everyone else is busting it and expect to still get respect from it. You take the easy money, but also take the consequences of being seen as a sex object who doesn't respect themselves, with that.

I'm so sick of people wanting the f*cking easy way out in life, and then whining and bitching about the consequences of it. They're like children and babies. You CHOSE to do sex work. Stop f*cking complaining! You don't deserve to be given a medal like a doctor or hero war vet for selling your asscrack, something any woman can do. It's not hard work and it doesn't require intelligence or skill.

I'm not hating against sex work as much as this bullsh*t Participation Trophy mentality. You go ahead and sell your ass for cash, but then shut up and stop bitching that you demand "respect, admiration, and praise" for it. No, you do not. Actual people who save lives, guide the future, work hard, and do valuable work for society deserve all of that. Stay-at-home moms and school teachers deserve far more respect than professional whores do, and they barely even get it. No one but you stopped you from being a valuable member of society and in an ideal world, sex workers wouldn't exist. You're no more deserving of a trophy than a drug dealer, and sex workers are pretty much just that.

Again, I'm not trying to be mean to them and I don't even dislike sex workers (the ones who do ACTUAL work that is; OnlyFans isn't even "work"), but sex work isn't essential for society and they chose that line of work, so stop complaining about people not kissing your ass because you show it.

I am neither pro nor anti sex work. But their job is no more worthy of praise and admiration than a Target cashier.

Basically feminists want a situation where every woman can be whoring around and still get whatever she wants from men. For that to happen they have to convince men that there's no difference between being a disloyal slut/whore with less self-control than a wild animal and being a loyal woman who can commit to one man. Praise? No. Of course not, I don't give praise to any professional aside from a few like policeman. But respect? Are they stealing? Are they not providing a service? They deserve respect.
About being a valuable member of society, do you really think that if you end sex workers that society will work better? They exist because there is demand for what they offer, because it's needed.
About skill, do you think anyone can do it? Please! Can you do it? Men are sex workers too. Can you do it? Even if you tried could you? No.
Again, I don't think they deserve to be praised, but to look down on them makes no sense.

Just answer me this, let's say you meet a girl and you find out after 10 minutes of conversation that she does porn. After that what? You start calling her a whore? As I have answered in other such questions, those who work in the sex industry do so because the other avenues of making money aren't open to them for different reasons. They fulfill a need. The demand remains and it will always be fulfilled. Unfortunately, it's the same with the drug industry. As long as there is a demand, there will always be someone to fill it.

My question is about whether or not sex work is "real honest decent work that isn't hurting anyone" or if it's dangerous, seedy, oftentimes illegal work that exploits and hurts people, both the provider or customer. People keep acting like this sh*t is no different than being a meter maid or working at Walgreens, and it really IS a sign of the downfall of humanity. That selling your ass for cash is now seen as some admirable career choice in life. I am simply stating the fact that men and women have sexual needs to fulfill, and if they can't get those needs handled in relationships, they will turn to sex workers. Well, I already stated all my points in the message.

I don't find what they do to be so horrible, but they do use and exploit losers for money, like any other street hustler does. I don't even care about that, though. The obnoxious thing I mentioned plenty of times are people trying to deify them and say "sex work is work." (Yet, they don't pay taxes on that sh*t.)

They also choose to do that job, and the job comes with a lot of negative actions and behaviors for it. Not to mention, it is actually illegal, if we're talking about prostitution.

I'm not taking any moral stance on it, nor am I some judge of what's moral or not. What I'm saying is, these people aren't saints and I'm sick of everyone deifying them or acting like selling butthole pictures on the internet or taking your clothes off for creep old men is some essential service to society and that sex workers are on same level as doctors or police officers. This has only been a thing for the last two years or so, and it seems super-damn manufactured. Like powerful people are trying to push this BS to the masses, and the dumbest people are falling for it.

So to reiterate, my point is taking your clothes off for easy money or having sex with strangers isn't worthy of praise, adoration, or high respect. If it was, you'd be doing it too since it's easy, lucrative for a few years and requires no talent or skill.

I worked as a bouncer at strip clubs about ten years ago. My female best friend from middle and high school became a famous porn star (some might have been heard of her before). I ended up becoming friends with women who I later found out were escorts (though by their personalities, it wasn't surprising). So YES, I have known sex workers before. More than I would've guessed I'd know by now. Yes, it IS easy money. That is literally why they do it! They don't care enough about their future reputation to see what kind of harm this work will do to it, or what kind of danger this life puts them in.

I can't believe people nowadays are trying to compare going to a stranger for sex as the same thing as going to a restaurant. Maybe it's because one is illegal and risky and the other is not? And as I said, I DON'T CARE what these people do with their lives. They're grown adults. But the fact is, it isn't respectable honest work, no matter how you look at it. You ask the average woman would she be a hooker, porn star, or stripper and she'll probably tell you no (at least, for now; who knows what the next five years will bring). I asked you, as a female, would you do this kind of work, and you never answered the question. If it was "a good, honest, clean living" and you could make $2,000 a week for doing something you potentially enjoyed, like having sex or taking your clothes off, then why don't you?
