Is it ignorant that I am bi and distance myself from American LGBTQ culture?

I don't really get it. Homosexuality isn't really an accomplishment of mine. It's not like my qualifications and achievements. Like my university degrees and my work that I have done

And in the broader scope of history homosexuality doesn't exist outside of regular society. It's not usually some kind of 'tribe' or 'nation' with colours and flags. That's super recent and kind of weird.

In Vancouver, where I lived, they would take down the national flag in places and put up a gay flag. ...

LGBTQ isn't a nation... it doens't have a flag... it's just people being intimate with each other... I don't get it.
