Everyone is loved only under the condition that they provide something. If that wasn't the case then why aren't all school lunches free for children? Unconditional love would mean no child starves.
No one is loved unconditionally as a group, because that's not what our society is. Our society is based on production - that's what capitalism is. To the whole we are only seen as valuable based on what we give back to society, and what we produce for society. If anyone is deemed not 'worthy' by some horrible and bigoted standard then they are not loved unconditionally.
Poor people are not loved, disabled people are not loved, LGBTQ people are not loved, people of color are not loved, men who don't behave the way society says they should are not loved... Every one is hurting.
I'm glad that we're pointing out that men also get the short end of the stick - because they do. They're forced to perform a certain way because of their gender, they're told their fatherhood isn't worth as much as motherhood, they're told they're more violent and cruel, they're told they're weak if they get hurt or abused or raped... That's messed up. But it's not just men, like it's not just women or children. We're all in this suffering together, we need to work together to fix it.
Lgbt people aren't loved? you're insane
If so, then my wife and I might be exceptions to the rule since we both only love each other conditionally. I'm pretty sure that if I started abusing my wife in any form, including verbally, she'd leave me and I'd want her to leave me. And if she starts abusing me, then I'd want to leave her as well, and I suspect she'd want me to leave her.
I do agree at least mostly about children and animals. I got this stray cat I picked up off the streets and she's kind of an ass. I even got this scar on the underside of my left wrist that looks like I tried to commit suicide from the first time I gave her a bar. But I still love her regardless. I can't imagine what she can feasibly do that will change that.
For me though, loving someone like an adult and not some innocent pet or child means being conditional with our love. We start holding them to moral standards because they are adults and not animals or kids.

Kind of an accountability thing. If I have a child who becomes a serial killer, I'd consider it my fault. Therefore I want to love them regardless and blame myself for their misbehavior. If my wife becomes a serial killer, then I consider her an adult and don't blame myself for her actions.
I think women who love men unconditionally blame themselves too much for their men's actions, like blaming themselves if their man cheats on them. That's not healthy. They're looking at their grown men like their own children and themselves like mothers, perhaps. Conditional love is the healthiest love from one adult to another as I see it.
I thought the exact same way you do.. then she kissed another man.
It was like a light switch, love to ice cold in a matter of weeks.
@Slartybartfast I luckily never experienced that extreme of a scenario but I did have a toxic ex early on when I started dating. And I saw it as a value to love her unconditionally so I put up with so much abuse and thought that was a good and noble thing. But later on, I started to realize that this is very unhealthy for one adult to love another unconditionally.
Exactly, she left without a thought for what it would do to me. If she ever actually loved me, she couldn't have done that. It was years before I even tried dating again, and after a very short time online dating i gave up on women entirely and now avoid them if I can.
Guys, women file 80-90% of divorces and when she makes more money, the divorce rate goes up from 50% to 75% and as if that weren't bad enough, the best predictor for divorce is whether or not the husband makes the median income. In other words, women's love is for sale at a high premium.

Not even children are loved unconditionally in the present world; some parents have favourites among their children and pressure said children to meet unrealistic expectations.
Yes, fully agree, women definitely demand something for love
Funny but untrue. You and Chris rock forget male sexual desire.
nothing is loved unconditionally besides children. Anything that murders someone is not loved.
Im not sure how true this is. Everyone has expectations going into a relationship but I wouldn't say woman hinge on this at all times
Chris is correct.
