In my opinion, about 95% of humanity is comprised of idiots. The only ones who aren't idiots are the self-aware ones who can realize the previous point I just made. How many stupid people think they're not stupid? While avoiding irony, I can PROVE to myself and others (if need be) I am not stupid, because of the willingness to be open-minded (to MOST things), rational, and admitting wrongdoing because I cannot possibly know all the answers. That's why I state these as opinions and not facts.

But yeah, as George Carlin said: "Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that."

If anything, Darwinism will self-correct most of the time, unless society as been idiot-proofed and you get the movie "Idiocracy." But as @TheSpaceGnome as eloquently put it: " The entire government are idiots, most police are idiots. Criminals who gain guns illegally are usually idiots."

And I'll even add how usually it's civilian gun owners who are the least stupid when it comes to firearms. Maybe SOME cops, but they tend to have more itchy fingers and less trigger discipline than civilians, in my opinion.

And, if there's anything we should be banning stupid people from doing, it's breeding. (INB4 the right-wing people ironically bring up how "abortion needs to be outlawed," yet will admit left-leaning people are usually idiots.)

I know this silly question wasn't meant to be taken as seriously as I did. But hey, my fingers got to typin'.

The same reason their are warning labels on pretty much everything we use/consume… People are stupid. And, unfortunately, stupidity/common sense isn’t a valid enough reason to not take someone’s money when it comes to purchasing a firearm. Also, poor training.. You need to know proper safety. Always. Always treat any weapon (even if you know it’s not) as a loaded weapon. I’ll also add that a lot of these were idiot kids who have zero business near much less handling loaded guns! And a few were just mistakes/freak accidents. Treat every weapon as it’s loaded and always utilize the safety unless you’re ready to fire.

Because unfortunately there are firearm owners that exercise the right to buy a firearm for multiple reasons be it protection, flaunting, sport, etc, but it doesn't mean all of them are responsible.

Those that handle firearms in my presence all know how to handle the weapon loaded and unloaded and safety fundamentals. Hell, I have even taught and trained curious friends and soldiers how to handle them when on a range and during personal use.

Biggest rule. Always treat the gun as if it was loaded.

And the irresponsible individuals are used as the poster child for a lot of anti gun arguments and how we are viewed in general. You cannot factor one jackass as the sole view of the general group. The idiots that show themselves on camera in these instances where these avoidable accidents happen are due to their lack of understanding and ignorance.

It's part of the constitution lol. And if you disagree with the guns laws in America, ignorant Americans will say "fine, leave", meanwhile just because some disagrees with gun laws but pays their taxes, apparently not being pro-gun is being anti-American in the eyes of an ignorant American. I've said this 10 years ago that sometimes in life the things we love most can also become our destruction. To answer your question, I truly don't know why people who are idiots can use guns.

I believe in the second amendment but i also acknowledge many idiots shouldn't be able to exercise it. Having said that I ask "why stop here?" If you're too stupid to be able to treat a gun with respect you're too stupid to treat a car with respect too. More public transports for the idiot brigades please. Less drunk drivers, less idiot kids on their cell phones, etc , etc.

Criminals who gain guns illegally are usually idiots.

You can't stop idiots from owning guns, you can only make it so easy to own a gun that the armed intelligent people outnumber the armed idiots.

The concept of "allowed to" is a flawed premise as well, no law is ever going to stop those who break laws.

Not easy to own a gun but we produce a version of glock here which is only for export into the states bc it would be heavy illegal to own here... Austria

This is a real anomaly. There are millions of gun owners in the US that do not shoot their foot off on a regular basis. THe vast majority of gun owners practice gun safety. Unfortunately there is an idiot in every crowd.
