I did not follow the trial but he should not have been charged in a clear cut self defense case in the first place.

Once an individual is selected that overwhelming duty will follow through with a well defined justice. All 6 from the defense chosen and the other 6 from the prosecution jury members have the same conclusion. Regardless of the judge. If not it's a mistrial and start over again.
