What is your oppinion on those who live off the system and never get off it?

Do you support the system that enables these people to have a life free of work and not do a thing that contributes back to society? I think there should be a form of work that you must do in order to get a welfare check but nothing should be given for free. Even for poor people with all the programs and non profit organizations that they help with. I make 6 figures and the perks of social benefits a family of 50 k a year is way way more than what I could ever hope to pay for.
