Unfortunately it seems like a lot of people have a hard time telling the difference between opinion and fact

I don't think facts can be racist, but what they justify can be. I'll give an example, but just know while the fact is true, I disagree with the conclusion I draw from the fact.

The fact is, black people in America commit proportionally more crime then white people.
This fact is correct and not racist despite involving race.

The conclusion is, black people are inherently more violent than white people.
This is a statement with no facts behind it. It is a racist statement in itself. The reason is, the statement falls to realize a lot of external factors (location, financials, opportunity, etc.) that the black community typically faces that can lead to them committing stuff crimes.

Hope this helps you think about this. Just a final reminder, I disagree with the conclusion used here in my example, it's just for demonstration. And if you thought the conclusion holds weight, I hope you'd do more research into the things I mentioned, as I only scratched the surface.

You should have told him to get his head out his ass, as racism has no scientific or religious basis. Hence why it's illegal in law to be overtly racist and can never be justified as "fact" as there are none.
