It depends om how it increases the interest rates. The rational manner to do so would be to change interest rates slowly over a year time. Then sure, it will slow down economic growth for sure but there is no reason to assume it will lead to economic collapse or recession in general.


If they bump it up suddenly with 1%, there will be panic on the market and effects will be more sudden, which will mostly lead to somewhat lower economic growth.


Also, how much it should increase interest rates should not be based on such an arbitrary number like 1%, but their complex monetary models.

Anyone's guess at this point. There can be educated guess, but still guess. With the 40% increase in money production, they essentially stole 40% of all US wealth. With increased wages and taxes and cost of living they will course their printed money through the economy further draining people's savings and value. Unless that money is destroyed or undistributed, we will all be robbed 40%. Granted it will have a dampened effect so perhaps 25%, but can reach a max value of 40%.

None of these things in the short / medium term. It is only leading to a future malinvestment in the medium / long term. Problems will come later. In the short term, if there was a 1% rate hike, there could be problems on wall street, but not market crashes. Markets are already pricing in an expectation of rate hikes.

companies buy their own stock with 0 interest , they won't as much if it is raised. Every time Fed tried , Dow has lost thousands of points. If things are so great, why isn't interest rates 5%? If it is so great how come gold is still near all time highs? Because things are not good. It is all smoke and mirrors. A raise in interest rates will stop inflation true, but it will give us the greatest depression in world history.
