On a more serious note, they are not the same. Be it in cost or in how easy it is to misuse they are vastly different. Furthermore cars actually have a vital function in modern society which means that even though they ARE extremely dangerous and causes large amounts of damage and deaths each year they are still required for our society to function in the first place. Whatever you might say, guns are not required.
As for how raising the age of buying guns makes you safer? Less people would have guns and less teenagers especially. They are hardly the most responsible group of people but that is besides the point. Raising the age does not really solve the problem, it just puts a very small bandaid on it. If you are inviting us to actually solve the problem then I dont mind talking gun control and government buy back programs etc.. but I am sure you will scream like a stuck pig towards anything with a measurable degree of success.

The thing about schools was mostly tongue-in-cheek but schools are generally the greatest concentration of children so also the most vulnerable and most notably, not a place cars can easily go to.

There is no real comparison between a car and a gun. For the cost of a new car you can buy fully automatic machine guns in USA as well as have money left over much less a crappy AR15.
There is a very good reason to believe that young people would not have legal weapons if you make them illegal. After all.. you made them illegal at which point you can then DO something about it if its an issue. Again, if something is illegal it opens up the possibility of using law enforcement action to FIX it.
Speaking of studies. There are no studies that guns in USA make you safer. There are countless studies that says the opposite.
With increasing modernization the role of transportation becomes ever more critical which is why cars and roads are fundamental to modern cities. You simply can't have a modern society today without them since you can't carry or walk the distances required to maintain the economy and social functions.
As for guns. They are literally pointless. At most you can use them for recreational activities like hunting but that is just a hobby. The whole belief that they are somehow holding the government accountable or preventing invasion when both can be countered "BUT WHAT ABOUT THE US ARMY?" is laughable.
If you're a person betraying the trust of others a knife can be just as deadly. A gun is about self defense. A disabled person can use a gun to defend themselves. A person can still use a gun after they have been stabbed by an attacker or in a confined space.

I understand that people can get creative in the absence of guns, or just as an alternative. OF COURSE we can point to other methods of doing harm to people. But I mean…. don’t you see that it’s almost ALWAYS done with guns? They’re pretty easily portable, offer more maneuverability than any other method I could think of…. I mean, not for nothing, if you’re a disgruntled employee at some office on the 16th floor of a building and you want to kill as many people as you can…. are you driving up the stairs or loading it onto the elevator? The kids in Uvalde and Buffalo, they couldn’t have done what they did with just their cars. Comparing a motor vehicle to a semi-automatic firearm is really an apples and oranges comparison. I am a U. S. Army 82nd Airborne vet, and I have extensive experience with weapons of all kinds. I know what an AR-15 rifle is, because I have handled them and used them. All the AR-15 is is a slightly older, heavier and slower version of the M-16 military rifle. These weapons are made intentionally to blow flesh to shreds and cause quick bleed out and thus quick death. In short, they are designed to kill and kill fast. A motor vehicle is designed to be driven, it is not intended to be used to kill. Sure, you can use anything to cause harm to others, that’s true. But if a killer had to choose between a motor vehicle or an AR-15, I’m quite certain most would choose the latter, and most have. Enough said about that. Now, onto your question...
Being that most mass killings involve both a semi-automatic firearm (usually the AR-15) and a shooter under the age of 21, restricting access to those types of weapons to anyone under the age of 21 could certainly help to prevent some of the mass shootings that have been occurring more and more these days. This one regulation is certainly not a cure-all, but it is something that can be done that doesn’t infringe on my rights as a responsible and experienced gun owner.
Not quite- it's much cheaper to buy a gun than a car (especially nowadays!) and it's WAY easier to sneak a gun in somewhere than to sneak in a CAR. Also, hitting a person in a car will slow it down and remove its ability to kill people until it accelerates again; a fired bullet hitting someone doesn't affect the gun at all.
And while a human can't outrun a car, save when it first starts moving, they CAN evade it by putting obstacles between it and themselves, and by running into places the car wouldn't fit- you can't kill someone half a mile away with a car, and only a superhero can outrun a bullet.
You're not wrong in saying that the danger is in the person, not the gun, but it's hardly "no difference". Especially since you can get a driver's license at *16*.
But you can't dismiss that lots of guns are purchased or owned by irresponsible people. I think its weird i have to have a license to fly a plane, drive a car. Even drones need registration. Arguably, regardless however you want to put it, none of these can take out 20 or 30 people as efficiently as a gun. Its hard to dodge a salvo of 55gr bullets coming at you moving half a mile per second. Yet i can walk into a store and walk out with an AR or AK and not prove i have any sort of proficiency, respect or understanding of that power available to me.

Lots of things can be used as weapons, but that doesn't mean we can ban all normal items such as cars. However, as statistics show, guns (and specific ones) are far more dangerous. We should be limiting items that are unnecessary and items which main use is for harm. In my country guns are not really allowed, especially rifles like that. We literally do not have school shootings.

Raising the gun purchasing age to 21 is a completely bullshit proposal. Normal people know 1) Not many gun crimes are committed by 18-20 year olds 2) 18-20 year olds don't vote en masse so no politician cares if their rights are taken away 3) It gives the appearance of 'doing something' 4) 18-20 year olds who want to own guns will just do so illegally.
Politicians are under pressure to "do something" and raising the age limit to buy certain types of firearms is basically the lazy idiot quick answer that could *probably* get enough votes between both parties to pass.

They would probably be better off raising it to 25 since Peoples Brains don't finish fully developing. People would be more likely to think of the consequences of their actions before throwing a Hissy Fit of Pure Rage. A lot of them are guys angry at the world. Yes, they got Mental Health Issues. However, it doesn't mean it can't be prevented if they have somebody to talk to as well as listen to them. Lastly, as long as we have all these guns out there, then all the laws can't really be relied upon to be effective. America already has 50% of the guns in the world despite only being 1 country. It's too easy to get a firearm. You can be for the 2nd Amendment and realize we have problems in this country with firearms.
You seem sane, don't have felonies to your name... Buy a gun and kill people then off yourself. For this reason more restrictions on guns make little sense to me. You either ban them outright, or you deal with the actual problem.

Dangerous people with a non automatic weapon are less dangerous than people with it. There is no reason for that to be outside of the military. They don’t need active tanks either.
No military uses the AR-15 It is a civilian rifle. Anyone that says it is a fully automatic military weapon of war is a complete Fraud and shouldn't be trusted with anything they say or be in a position of power.
It just happened in Berlin killing the teacher and injuring the students. The police don't wait an hour before apprehending them so of course they don't kill as many people. The Berlin truck attack in 2016 killed 12 people and injured 56 others. He also used a gun to kill the truck driver. Which of course, Proves European gun ban doesn't work.
Driving is not a constitutionally protected right. That said, almost every firearms violation is an arrest-able offense. Even a victimless crime, such as having a 15.5” barrel instead of a 16” barrel lands you in federal prison for 10 years. If we wanted them to mirror each-other you better start creating mass prison colonies.
There is no constitutional right to buy cigs and beer. You can't defend your home with cigs and beer either. But, I do agree with your statement that at some point in time you're an adult or you're not. Raising the age to purchase things doesn't change the fact that some people never grow up. If they aren't an adult at 18 what are the chances they would be an adult at 21?
The age being raised to 21 is only going to effect people who plan on getting these guns from a gun dealer it won't even make the guns harder to get because they never intended to purchase one from a dealer the ones that are obtained ilegally will be just as easy to get as it was before they fail to mention that , not to say the ones obtained legally won't be involved in a mass shooting.
