There is a serious aspect to the news that Trump was destroying presidential documentation: every time he did it, he was breaking the law.

The impression I get of today's Russell Brand, Jimmy Dore, and Glenn Greenwald is that they've worked out where the money is, and they don't mind their views being used to prop up the idea that both sides are as bad as each other, so people might as well vote for the greater of two evils. They're all evil, right?

If you really want to get money out of politics, support https://wolf-pac.com - yes it was started with people from TYT, but that doesn't make it a bad idea. It would also mean congresspeople would have no excuse not to read the bills they vote on, since they'd have twice as much time to work for you. At the moment, most of them literally spend half their time asking for donation from rich people.

I suspect "abolishing double and triple taxation" would end up with a less progressive tax system and the rich paying even less. Reducing congressional salaries is a terrible idea, unless you only want "representation" from people who can afford to take a few years off work. Banning insider trading seems to be an obvious idea whose time has come; that might actually pass, if any Republicans are willing to vote for it (and if they're not today, why would you think they would if they take control?).

As to "actually imprisoning war criminals", I don't know who you're talking about, but Trump's the one who set free convicted war criminals.

To be fair, he's actually not completely wrong on that (though I'm not sure it's down to regulations as much as it is just a trend). We had something similar with vacuum cleaners - they're now legally limited to 900W power, which means that either you have to spend twice as long vacuuming (which then uses the same total amount of energy), or you have to buy a sophisticated Dyson - but who the hell wants to spend £300 on a vacuum cleaner?
