Some NSDAP members (such as Frank or Von Ribbentrop) were sentenced to death in Nurnberg and I'm delighted about it. They should not sit in warm prison with tv and good meals paid by my taxes.

2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I'm unsure, but I err on the side of caution, that being anti-death penalty. Not only can people be wrongfully convicted, and thus their death penalty being unjustified and a truly horrible and unfortunate thing, but laws can change. Things we thought were bad at one point we find out aren't so bad.
For example, up until this day (or at the very least up until our very recent history), there were some places in the world where the punishment for homosexuality was being stoned to death. The problem is when government is like "whoops, we were wrong. Homosexuality actually isn't bad." And then ghe government being unable to compensate the people they killed (as they're literally dead). So those people were wrongfully killed but don't get their lives back once the government admits the law was unjust.
And that doesn't just apply to laws they change, not all laws are justified. Our legal systems are made by us, flawed being, and thus, are bound to be flawed (let alone considering the inclination towards flaw that naturally comes with highly complex systems like the legal system we have today).10 Reply6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. For certain crimes, I absolutely support the death penalty. But it should only be applied when there is no doubt of guilt. None of this beyond "reasonable" doubt shit.
Innocent people get convicted of crimes all the time, and sometimes sentenced to death based on circumstantial evidence at best.
The problem is the rich and powerful never get the death penalty. Cops and people in government never get the death penalty. It's always poor people who can't afford good representation who get sentenced to death. Our judicial system is very unfair.
There are very influential people who are guilty of crimes against humanity who will never see a court room, let alone a prison cell or death chamber. There are people I would like to see standing on a gallows pissing themselves in fear. No lethal injection for them.10 Reply8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I think the death penalty is unjustifiable for a simple reason.
We can never prove something with 100% certainty. This is a problem because if we make a mistake with the death penalty, you just executed an innocent civilian. You can't just "undo" that. At least with prison time you can make an attempt to compensate with giving them money, you can't compensate someone who is already dead.
Until we live in a world where we can 100% guarantee that anyone sentenced to death is guilty with no errors, ever, it becomes impossible to implement the death penalty.10 Reply- 1.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yAnyone over the age of 30 getting a life sentence should just get the death penalty but here's why.
At least in this country, we put people in jail for way too long. People get 10, 30, 40+ year sentences over relatively small things.
If you think this person needs to go away "as long as possible" just send them to death row. Who is it helping to pay all that money to feed, clothe and maintain the health of a person just so that you can give them a shitty life living in a box where they can never persue their purpose?
I think if we brought the death sentence back, it would be the beginning of fixing how unreasonable we are with these long prison times because a judge/procecutor is going to think twice before killing somebody. Sending someone to death row isn't really different than giving someone 30+ years but it definitely feels different when you have the option.00 Reply 5.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. "He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. . . when you gaze long into the abyss the abyss also gazes into you"
Death penalty is just too masterbatory eagerly salivating on another's death. I don't see a difference from a serial killers intentions and pro death penalty individuals other then a better excuse. Let them exercise there rights in our justice system and when that is exhausted left to rot in a cell to be forgotten. They become legends and martyrs with even suicide let alone execution.
There is no point in executions other then satisfying the same bloodlust the killers have. Then it becomes a weird commodity showmen ship needing more killings the convict and hundreds more victims. No good comes from the death penalty.00 ReplyNot only should the Death penalty not be abolished, but we need to use it more often.
It's stupid that we let rapists and drug dealers back on the streets knowing they'll just do it again.
All murderers should be put to death after ONE appeal to the Supreme Court.
"Whosoever shed's man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed." - Genesis.
The Death Penalty for Murder and Rape and the occult (demon possessed Witches, Psychics, mediums, familiars, wizards, necromancers, etc) is as old is writing and is commanded by God. It's pretty obvious the punishment should fit the crime. You're not supposed ot "observe times" (Astrology) nor enchantment (spells). You'r not supposed to forecast the future via studying stars or clouds. I don't mean banning science, I mean banning astrology and similar "Divination" stupidity which is both a false religion and a rip-off.00 Reply- 8.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yWell, what's the alternative: keeping someone in jail for the rest of their life while we tax payers foot the bill to keep them alive for the heinous crimes they've committed? Keeping them in over-crowded prisons? Worrying about if they're gonna escape and kill others? They are WORTHLESS! They're NEVER getting out of jail ever again!! What possible good can come from keeping them alive? It also sends the message to other potential murderers out there that, they have nothing to fear because they'll just spend their life in jail with free room & board, free food, free medical, etc.! And ALL on OUR dime!! It's like putting half a bottle of sour milk back in the fridge in the hopes that SOME DAY, it'll get better and be able to be used again!

+1 yFuck your feelings. If Biden diddles his daughter or fucks young girls repeatedly, string that fucker up and kill him. Cosby got let loose because of technicalities. Kidd fukkers need to be disposed of as soon as they are caught. Heels up Harris sent innocent people to a death sentence via paying witnesses and guess what? The douche bag got found innocent, and lefty tards somehow don't give a flying fuck. Taken off of death row. Left tards just ignore it, say "Orangeman Bad", and be fucking stupid and fucking retarded.
10 ReplyYes I believe in it! I feel it should be executed sooner as long as it was determined beyond a reasonable doubt! I don’t think death row inmates should be allowed to sit in jail with 3 hots and a cot and taking up tax payer money. That money could be better used for homeless children and families that havnt committed crimes!
12 Reply1.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Yes and no. I think if we're going to use it, there should be none of these appalling, inhumane executions by gas chamber, electric chair, or even lethal injection. It should simply be one bullet between the eyes, and that's it.
And people given the death penalty shouldn't be on death row for decades, they should be given about a year for their possessions to be sold, given to families, stuff signed over, etc. And after that... you know.00 Reply
+1 yI do not. I can't deny, that an ounce of me - likes the idea of getting rid of the scum of the world BUT I'm against killing people & most importantly: you can't take death away, innocent lives have been taken and the loss of one innocent life is one to many.
The death penalty hasn't been practiced in my home country since 1830ish & here since 1950 and hope it stays like that.00 Reply- 1.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yEven though i empathize with those who lost someone to a murderer i still cannot condone capital punishment.
i mean there are definitely those who deserve it but i just cannot allow the state to have this much power over regular human beings plus we have executed innocent people before. that is a huge crime in itself.
so im principled on this.10 Reply - 3.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yIt is definitely justifiable. Some people will do anything they want if there are no consequences. Others will do anything they want regardless. Others are insane. But those who have no regard for the law must be permanently removed from society. If they're dead, you don't ever have to worry about them getting out of jail.
00 Reply 3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I don't support the death penalty for a numbers. Innocent people have been executed, it cost more than life in prison, does nothing to deter crime, government isn't free from corruption, is used as a scare tactic to get confessions, lastly 2 wrongs don't make a right.

+1 yi think it is what needs to be done to protect the community, tax payers are spending too much money for prisoners to live. it would be a lot cheaper to let them die. plus like i said we need to keep us safe and in many ways the only way to do that would be to put the criminal to death.

+1 yI believe in the death Penalty. Some people are so evil, it is justified. The Death Penalty is not intended to be a deterrent to anybody but the person it is applied to. In this, it is 100 percent effective since no one experiencing the Death Penalty has ever lived to commit another crime again.

+1 yi think it's not justifiable and countries who have that are very backwards. if you want a society build on the premise that ending someones life is not ok, you can't have that as a punishment, cause then you're doing what you want nobody to do.
00 Reply 817 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Life is precious. That said, putting someone to death is sometimes the best alternative to housing them for life. Some people, like Charles Manson, lived off the state for far too long for what he had his followers do.

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yits a bit primitive. plus death row inmates sit there for 20 years sometimes, so you can't even use the "well at least theyre not eating tax money if theyre dead" i think, if you're gonna do it... do it right, if theyre sentenced to death, blow their brains out, which is also fucking mindblowingly cheaper, faster, and more effective than lethal injection. those drugs are extremely expensive, along with them sitting there for decades, whats the point really
00 Reply340 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I agree with it in principle for major crimes, but there are cases where people have been wrongly convicted, so it should depend on the strength of the evidence in each case.

@annabananna the thing about the death penalty is it is a quick escape for the worst of the worst. But also taxpayers have to pay to keep the worst of the worst alive as well.
Personally I think there should be a set number of representatives from the victim’s families. The the representatives should have a vote on the perpetrators fate. If Ted Bundy did that to someone in my family i would vote for the firing squad and be there myself with a loaded rifle.

The death penalty is the same thing as life in prison. But they don’t just give you the death sentence because it would be too nice to stop the rapist suffering too soon. They make him live in Change 20 years and if he tries to stop eating food so he die they force feed the rapist with a tube, so he lives out his 20 years in jail. After 20 years they give rapist the death sentence.
