Anyway, if real life ai was like that show... sure.
They were like people.
They had feelings... people couldn't tell them apart and did not know they were ai and they fell in love and had normal human relationships.
If it ever reached a level like that I would be for their rights.

Perhaps, your - and my idea of a ''robot'' is different? - What I have in mind is a ''made'' machine with some kind of (artificial) intelligence that is capable of becoming a ''personality''. Sure: an automated welding machine or such is called a robot as well; but that's not a point here. Same idea to your tree :)
