The fun thing about inflation figures is that it is really easy to figure out where it comes from. Inflation, after all, is the weighted average of the increase in cost of various products. If you notice one going up very sharply, that’s a main source of inflation.

And well, inflation data shows that last year it was driven by supply chain issues and now it is mostly driven by energy prices. This is simply what the data says.

The Ukrainian issue has caused a lot of unrest in the stock markets and Russia is the world's second largest energy provider.
