In supporting Russia's invasion under the pretense of "national security", do Maduro or Castro understand the danger of the precedent they've set?

Both have claimed that Russia is acting in "self defense" because NATO encroaching on Russia's borders is a threat to its' national security because it brings US troops right to its' doorstep. Uh, well by that logic, the US could say that Russian-Venezuelan military cooperation is a threat to its' national security so we'll just bomb Venezuela until they sign a treaty saying that they will no longer cooperate with Russia.

If this war is really about the threat the US poses to Russia via NATO and not Russia's desire to re-assert its' influence in the former USSR/Russian empire, it would be taking place in the Bering straight, not in Ukraine.

I was thinking about it too so I think Russia does not attempt to occupy ukraine because it really need buffer. but that two areas in eastern ukraine. I passed by a news, it said Putin was tired of it at that time. Now just know Azov battalion.. etc.
If you know slavic is rough that you know that you need to deal with kiev when you deal with two areas and also they know each other they may jump to serious level directly.

Not now but America has track history of full invasion due to ''national security'' and other lies. Vietnam war and Iraq & Afghanistan war for example.. As Biden said, Latin America is not America's backyard but front. Given that U. S. has a bad rep in Latin America due to meddling also America have put on economic sanctions on Cuba and Venezuela for years now. Sanction is an economic warfare imposed by bigger stronger nation. Seriously, why would any Americans be surprised when Venezuela and Cuba would side with Russia over America on the issue of Rus-Ukr war?
