Why don't we have more good TV shows?

The Waltons among others were good wholesome family shows that taught working hard helping other and being good to each other made you happy and healthy. Why have these shows been replaced with crime and violence?

simply, because directors and producers found out services like Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, and such are more profitable
even if you watch a show without paying for it (pirate it) it could be profitable cause there's a high chance that you might like it and recommend it to others who may pay to watch that show
also when you pay for such stuff, your mind will make it more special, and automatically you kind of force yourself to watch and like that show because you paid for it
these are very small points that came to my mind but I can assure you there're hundreds of reasons why TV shows are not like old times

From the photo looks like child services would be a regular visitor and at least 1 son would be Gay, a couple of the girls pregnant and single.

I really like that show the rifleman and the Walton’s writers were much better back then I like that episode where John boy was working and all his siblings came in to tell him good night one by one and he didn’t turn around to notice they weren’t leaving they were just getting in his bed and when he turned and saw them he told them to get out😂

So called reality shows and recycled game shows are cheap to produce so that is what the networks are going with.

I'll give you 3 good reasons..
1. It's already been done so reboot.
2. Lack of concern and more about shock value so sales
3. Internet.

kids cartoons went downhill since the early 90s. 80s and early 90s were the best time ever for cartoons, now they suck
