The people who own the gas stations may only make 2-4 cents per gallon but big oil controls the price they pay to get that gasoline to sell at their stations. We've seen gas prices go up literally 50 cents a gallon overnight when oil prices go up because big oil raised what they are charging for that gas even though the actual gas being sold was refined months ago at a much lower price. And when gas prices came back down under $100 per gallon, we've seen no real decrease in the price of gas because big oil did not lower what they charged these station operators. Big oil profits are at record highs. How exactly do you think that's happening, Einstein?

Biden stopped drilling in areas of the USA and prevented permits from being issued in the Gulf of Mexico. That is the reason prices are high. It was a direct result of his executive orders. It has nothing to do with Russia's war with Ukraine. Gas prices were already up 100% where I live just a couple months into Biden's presidency.

Yes, I knew a guy who ran his own gas station and that is what he told me a long time ago. The oil companiies are not colluding together to set prices. Biden and his policies have caused the supply to dry up causing the price of crude oil to go from 25 dollars a barrel to over a hundred.

Oil prices are largely controlled by OPEC based on how much oil they release onto the world market. The price per barrel is based on a worldwide market. There is very little effect "Biden and his policies" had on making the price of a barrel of oil go up. Historically, oil typically traded between $60-90 per barrel over most of the last decade. It only went to $25 because there was no demand during the pandemic lockdowns. Only an idiot would think that price was sustainable when demand returned or try to blame Biden's policies its rise.
