I filled up my truck and a 5 gallon gas can yesterday. It was 82. bucks. Gas was $2.75 / gallon. This the lowest I have seen since President Trump's first term. There is still room for improvement but its a lot better that the 5 bucks a gallon it was a couple of years ago.

Let's unpack a bit of your bullshit here, yet again shall we, since you can't read a chart?

In 2009 when Obama took office, gas was $1.85 on average. It got as high as $3.77 in 2014 and as low as $1.82 in 2016, on average. When Trump took over in 2017, it was $2.46. It got down to $2.29 at the end of his term.

However, during his term he made the worst oil deal ever made with OPEC and production was cut by 9 million barrels daily. He "thought" somehow that US oil drillers would pick up the slack and oil prices would remain high enough. It didn't work as planned. OPEC got their revenge by keep the price of oil at a point where the US oil drillers couldn't afford to take it out of the ground. Hence, 119 rigs shut down.

By mid 2022, Americans started traveling again after Covid and demand went sky high, but the 9 million barrel a day cut-back deal was still in place. Biden pleaded with OPEC to tear up the deal. They said no. By June 2022, the national AVERAGE was $5.00, hitting $8 in California. Thank you Trump.

When demand started dropping due to price, and OPEC agreed to ease off on the cutbacks, gas gradually got back down to about $3.20 a gallon on national average. Today's national average is $3.08.

So as to your bullshit, gas prices dipped lower during both the Biden and Trump administrations, omitting Covid of course. But they rose because dumb shit interfered with the market by doing his dumb shit deal and causing prices to go up. Meanwhile during all of it, dozens of oil drilling companies went belly up, and related job losses are estimated at 50,000, and that doesn't include the impact on the overall economy. Gas was 1.99 in 2019 I never thought i would see it under 2 bucks again. As soon ad Biden got into office he waged war with the fossil fuel industry. He cancelled oil leases and cancelled the Keystone pipeline. He discouraged drilling and since nobody knew what he would do next nobody was investing in new oil wells. As a result we had a shortage that caused gas prices to more than double. Once gas prices doubled the cost of goods also increased and the combination of high gas prices and printing money he caused the worst inflation we have had in 43 years.

Here's why you can't critically analyze much of anything, Exit. Your favorite and only metric is gasoline prices, which accounts for very little spending in your world. EVERY other metric is going sky high now; health insurance, homeowners and renters insurance, car insurance, food, energy, entertainment, dining out, travel. EVERYTHING costs significantly more.

If you did the math, you'd see that gas goin up a full dollar saves the "average American" only $600 a year!! Yeah, that's it. And that's all you ever measure against. MEANWHILE, all your other expenses are up $4,000 - $6,000 a year. Duh.

Orange idiot knows this, so he throws in a tax break for dummies for $2,000 for a couple of years, but you're STILL getting grifted, and you're STILL losing ground. Adding to that insult, he gives a bigger, permanent tax break to wealthiest 3%, while you pay for it and enjoy your temporary tax break which gives you nothing.

Not only this, tell us ALL why if gas prices have remained level for a year, and trucks move 73% of all goods in the USA... WHY have food prices and goods gone sky high?

I only use premium 91 octane gas for my car. It was $4.30 per gallon last time I filled up. At the end of Trump's first term it was $2.00 per gallon. The $2 per gallon was also in a more expensive state. I now live in a state that is $1.40 per gallon less than my old state, but it is still higher than Trump's first term.

Gas was already high during George W. Bush's last term ($4.90 per gallon) and varied up and down during Obama, but was still $4.40 per gallon at the end of Obama's last term.

My wife just bought gas at a place in town that is $4.39 per gallon if you pay cash. The Costco, which is not conveniently located for us to go to regularly was $3.85 the last time she went there. I think it was $3.69 a few weeks ago when I filled up there.

@exitseven I stopped doing that 10 years ago, next month. Everything in my home is electric. No natural gas bill, no electric bill, no gasoline bill. The solar and Tesla storage battery is paid for. The gasoline powered junk I had before was breaking my bank for repair bills and gasoline. The Tesla, has had a few problems, but nothing compared to the General Motors vehicle.

@exitseven My local Arco station is showing around 4 - 5 dollars a gallon, I believe. The only way gas will get cheaper is for that pipeline project to be reopened. Cannot remember the name of it but Biden closed it when he took office. I believe it was The Keystone Pipeline" if I remember correctly. ?

Finishing the Keystone pipeline will help/. Selling oil leases to the energy companies is what will really bring up, supply. There is an offshore rig that Chevron is drilling. It goes down 4 miles and will pump a million barrels a day.
America will regain their energy independence and gas prices will go down even further.

The last time I want to Canada was in 2009 when gas was 4 bucks a gallon. I took the ferry to Nova Scotia. I saw that gas was about $1,50.. I couldn;t believe it was so much cheaper than in the US. Then I found out it was 1.50 a litre.

In Washington gas is expensive due to high gas taxes. The cheapest is on Indian reservations, and there are a few around Seattle. In Seattle gas is about $4.50, but on the reservations it´s $3.50.
