Have you ever met a genuinely racist person?

I've met heaps of racist people, and racism is really inherent in a lot of places. I worked with two Navajo guys who told me they and all the Navajo people they know don't consider non-Navajo to be actual human beings. That the word Navajo isn't even their word, it's a word put on them by Spanish colonials, that means horse thief, but they refer to themselves as "Dine'", which means "human beings".
There's lots of racism in most of the Native Americans I've interacted with, from the previously mentioned Navajo, but also the Shoshone of Idaho, to the MiWok and Chumash of California. From what I can tell, it's kind of a bitter racism and hatred of mostly whites for basically conquering their people. I had a guy at my work casually converting with another POC about "how much (he) hate (s) white culture" and he acts like a complete douche. He just seems like a sad and bitter kid who wasn't even around when his people got conquered, but it's something he probably won't ever get over even though he lives free and off a reservation in an amazing place. He is surrounded by bitter friends and family that perpetuate this pathetic "culture of the oppressed". He just whines about how all the white people should leave America and go to Europe. I have had a good time hanging with some NA people, Cree up in Sasketchewan, and even those Navajo guys and some Shoshone as well, but for the most part it seems this negative culture is really prevalent.
When I was in Jamaica, I heard a lot of racist things, both about blacks and whites, and heaps of homophobic hate as well. A white girl I was traveling with got spit on walking into a store.
I lived in various places in the USA, and there are racists all over. Outright hate as well as just some garden variety prejudices, mistrust, and generalizations about "all ______". I remember being in a Blockbuster in my hometown and some white woman talking about what movie they were going to get saying in a loud voice, "Oh, that's that new n*gg*r movie, right?" then covering her mouth when she saw everyone in the store looking her way. Several friends of mine from that town and other areas have said racist things to me like racist jokes, as well as making it really apparent and clear they consider certain races to be lesser people in one way or another. .
I'm actually watching "Tokyo Vice" right now, "A first-hand account of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police beat following Jake Adelstein, an American journalist who embeds himself into the Tokyo Vice police squad to reveal corruption. Based on Jake Adelstein’s non-fiction book of the same name.". The racism of many of the Japanese in the series is apparent, and I believe it to be an accurate reflection. The white guy is the only white guy working in the newspaper, and is told "no foreigners (meaning other than Japanese bloodline) have ever worked here" and the yakuza is as Japanese as the mafia is Italian.
Racism isn't always negative, either. I've had special treatment offered to me as I travel around the world. Both for presenting as male and as white, in my estimation. Being physically attractive also gets special treatment.
I come from a Christian family. I was raised in a family that we should be treating everyone else the way we want to be treated. Jesus was our savior someone who loved all people. I never even had a thought about racism. I genuinely thought that racism wasn’t a thing. Until I left my folks home when I grew up and lived with my brother. My first job I worked at my supervisor was a racist. Now I have heard about racism here and there but I didn’t really believe it. My supervisor said everything from the N word to other slangs to downright just awful and disrespectful things to black people. I’m thinking to myself why does someone like this exist? I stood up for the black people asking him why does he think this way. His whole family was dysfunctional and he had so much hatred toward people cursing people out left and right. Surprisingly he had a wife who wasn’t much better then him. I never understand why he was like that.
Why does anyone care what some idiot "thinks"? What he "does" is another story... There are laws on the books in every state covering hate speech. Anyone feeling that they are being targeted needs to behave like a civil rights attorney. They also need to lawyerup and to prosecute the individual through the courts versus whining about how "Joe Blow Racist" done did them wrong.
I would get as much video footage of this man's racist speech and antics against me as I could. I would get him to state his complete name on camera and, if he is a business owner, to identify his business name, location, etcetera. It's called evidence and this evidence would be presented during the discovery part of my lawsuit.
Oh. I would definitely make "Pat Morita" pay.
Oh, heck yes. There are PLENTY where I live. Thankfully, I've not faced racism IRL. Only a few racist mfs online, but that's pretty much it.
Ironically, even my mum is what you'd call a racist. She is not aware that she says racist stuff sometimes though. I've tried telling her, but in vain. My grandmother does not like blacks, my mum's the same but she's not a raging one like my grandmother.
I STRONGLY condemn racism and bigotry. Since many in my family are racists, I've learnt how to not be ignorant. I treat everyone equally. I judge people based on their character and not their race. The level of melanin in a person's body does not determine how "good" or "bad" they are. We should not make assumptions based on stereotypes and try to be more open minded.

Sure. I’ve met and known many openly racist people.
Others act as if it is the single worst thing a person can be, but I look at it as that person’s choice. If they want to hate Hispanics or White people or Blacks who am or anyone to tell them what to feel or think?
”Well they called me a racial slur!”
Okay. So what? We have freedom of speech and it’s just an insult. They haven’t broken any laws. How about you go your way and they go theirs? Agree to disagree?
We have to accept that there are people in this world that believe things very different than us. If they aren’t out there assaulting people, destroying property, or killing others who cares?
That Asian man knows an asshole when he sees one, He told the negro he has had problems there and negro man lived straight up to the stereo type. Pretending to be civil and reasonable while threatening him. Classic Negro move stepping towards him while imply the Asian is invading his space. I was waiting for the negro to walk into him so he could punch Asian man while claiming self defence. Asian man was stepping back so he knew what they where like.
Sometimes you get "racism" because you are a bad actor. I imagine this chinese man gets along with productive blacks just fine. the other man physically threatened him and was looking for trouble. The man with the camera was at his place of business making trouble. I can also imagine a chnese man taking video of this black mans establishment and getting called racist names I want to partonize this establishment now.
A really good high school buddy and I lost track of each other quite a few years ago. We reconnected on the phone recently after the death of a mutual friend.
He was always racist and still is, more so than ever. I don't understand it. His parents were very racist.
I'm not bigoted at all against anyone. People are just people.
Most of my class at school was racist. We had one black kid in the class and they made his life hell, and mine too because I stood up to them.
I was bullied for three years almost every day because of it.
I know of at least one of them is serving life in prison for murder (Not that it surprises me)
My step-mother was racist against blacks despite having a black nanny. Sad.
However...
When my bio-mother had terminal cancer, we had a black nanny, who looked remarkably like this women.
She immunized me against racist attitudes later in my teens.
Not in person at least not openly. Racist and racism gets thrown around loosely in today's world simply because you might criticize someone of a different racist or not like that particular ethnicity.
A genuine racist at heart seriously hates you and desires to see you murdered or horribly abused and mistreated.
No, my families on both sides, extended and not, are innocent. They're Arabs, Armenians (both of which are a subset of Asian), Latinos, there are a few whites and blacks in the family as well. Perfectly diverse. I've never heard my mom or stepdad or anyone else in my family use the n-word.
Some of my idiotic cousins said the N-word as kids but that's about it.
I haven't met a racist in person, but I was talking to someone about here discussing the worst of society: rapists, murderers, etc. I mentioned that I also put racists there and he said that he wouldn't, since he's a racist. I think any self described racist is genuinely racist.
My Aunt was one of the worst racists I can recall. She always believed that white society was practicing positive discrimination towards the "darkies" because they couldn't make it on their own. This may have been a genuine mistake on her part but it played directly into her prejudices.
I have a black grandfather from the south he fucking hates white people a Native American grandmother she calls whites blue eyed devils she hates them even more and I have an Italian grandma and grandpa in the north and they fucking hate blacks Asians Mexicans and Jews all of my grandparents are the most racist people I’ve ever met in my life they’re super mean too except my grandmas so I’m kinda desensitized to racism
I’m from Boston. I definitely have met many racists. I love this place to death, but some of the people really have unfortunate attitudes around here.
Lol the irish in the 80’s during school busing shocking the nation
@WhiteBoyChill Wild shit, bro. The Italians too. I was born in what’s basically our Little Italy, had an Italian landlord. Lady in one of the other apartments started dating a black dude and bringing him around…. the landlord posted up waiting for him outside of the building with a fucking PISTOL, just to let him know he wasn’t welcome around there, and this is probably like 1980. Fucking crazy shit, man.
I’ve met a few in person. The way they talk and act have led me to believe they were not all together mentally. Other than these enigmas I’ve met bigoted or prejudiced people, not “racist”.
I've known people who have been accused of racism. I'm struggling to think of evidence that would confirm so though.
Oh sure. But I notice that the ideas of racism and nationalism are less and less popular. At least in my country. So I'm an optimist :)
mainly the trolls online lol. but i don't think that really counts.
Yes, I know somebody that hates white people just because they are white.
I've met plenty. There's of lots of them where I live.
yes, Turks and Arabs are a very racist society. While they are racist in this land, when they see racism in Europe, they cry like a child who has gone under.
yea i think every one is racist. it just depends on how well off they are if they feel like they don't need to compete they will hide it
