Why are Americans in crazy denial about old money?

This guy told me that half over half of all Americans enter the top 10 percent income and that wealth moves around quickly.

Ameticans aren’t good at building dynasties like Europeans do. Sure, we have a few, but with the amount of economic opportunity here there should be a lot more but we’re to concerned with rugged individualism to have the foresight to think about our families wealth 400 years from now.

America is also one of the few countries to have an inheritance tax, which guts generational wealth transmission by fostering a use it or lose it mentality. The old money around here have figured out the trick is to donate everything to another old family’s foundation or presidential library for the next of kin to get it back after the head of family dies, and have set up the necessary alliances to do so.

Hahaha no. I mean inherited wealth and status. Where so. eone is born rich and famous and is able to get a good job and property because of it.

Yeah, having responsible parents matters and they have the right to do what they want with the money they earned including giving it to their kids. Now In my case, I gave my kids everything they needed to be successful and got them an excellent start into adulthood, so I plan to spend every penny and leave just enough money to bury me. I've done my part and I plan to enjoy my hard work!!

I got a scholarship to an elite school and my dad tried to sabotage it. Well he did, he sabotaged the scholarship but I did end up still going to the school. He is always trying to sabotage my sister and I and I don't know why
