I'm tired of news media overusing the word "killed". Whenever someone dies in a reportable event, the news media says "they were killed". To kill means an intentional act, like someone taking a gun and intentionally shooting someone. A plane crash, car crash or tornado doesn't "kill" anyone, the people "die" in the event.
