My Country went metric, so i have an imperial converter with me at all times to turn it back into proper English.

America uses mostly the imperial system.
I was told they use freedom units
Freedom units aren't a real thing. It was a joke because Americans want the freedom do not move to the way easier and logical metric system. For whatever reason, we choose to still use the overly complicated imperial system.
Here are a few examples where I've heard the US refer to the metric system.
1. 2 liter bottle of Coca Cola
2. Klicks... the army refers to klicks. "We'll meet up with your battalion 50 klicks up the road. (50 kilometers)
3. Bullet measurements. "That cop has a 9 millimetre Glock on his hip."
4. Illegal drugs: "US customs seized 100 kilos of cocaine at the border"
5. Medicine measurements: "I'm taking 25 milligram Melatonin tablets"
During the gulf war, France refused to let the American military fly over French airspace. In retaliation, we changed the name of “French fries” to Freedom fries.”
I suspect that might have been how the Freedom unit joke got started.
Oh, and next time, please refer to Americans as “outliers” instead of “out liars.” It’s much less expensive. lol
