I love how they call these freeloaders "climate refugees". We will spend trillions on "human infrastructure". and have a "existential crisis".12 Reply- +1 y
Climate refugees are freeloaders. That's why we have to build that wall because climate change is about to cause more free loaders
- +1 y
Yes, Biden stopped building the wall when it was about 3 weeks from completion. Then dismantled all the policies that President Trump implemented to keep them in Mexico. Then he rang the dinner bell telling these lawbreakers to just walk right in and sign up for their first of many EBT cards.
It is already a disaster and will only get worse.

+1 yWhat policies did they put into action that worsen climate change?
01 Reply- +1 y
Housing and feeding a bunch of climate refugees which means more deforestation for lumber and farms.
That means more co2.

I'll gamble a global solution then suffer in a walled society a few extra years just to suffer even longer.05 Reply- +1 y
But either way a malthusian crisis is inevitable. What I'm proposing is to lessen the blow for me, my immediate family and my immediate social network and culture.
This is the reason why most animals are territorial.
We are animals by nature, and we vow to protect out friends, neighbors and families, the people closest to us.
If an alpha male gorilla is in charge of his tribe, he will do anything to ensure his tribe his protected by refusing to allow outsiders to infiltrate, steal land and territory and food.
It's the same idea as the house analogy.
Would you allow a bunch of strangers to move in with your family without knowing their background? - +1 y
I understand.
Another solution is that since it takes decades to adapt to renewables, we might need to just start solar geoengineering to cool the planet enough to give us time to rapidly adapt to renewables.
Once renewables are fully used and we finally invented fusion and other green tech, we can stop the geoengineering or until co2 goes down, which might take a few decades. - +1 y
But if we do nothing, and go through analysis paralysis, we will face rising sea levels, migration crises, droughts and water shortages.
Blocking the sun actually increases rainfall in drought stricken areas. - +1 y
It's now or never on your geoengineering. Anything later is building walls exasperating global warming and dying faster.
Just be the hippie liberal you hate and that is the single best static of what ever you want in thia argument. Bite your tongue and hate everystep you walk on this path but you will get everything you want from this path. Your legacy lives forever or died being the greatest it can.
1.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Air pollution that causes health problems is real.
Global warming is not real.
Climate change is real. Climate change is not from carbon monoxide from vehicles. Climate change comes from the Earth's axis moving. It varies. Some areas experience more dryness while others are more wet, then it changes over time back and forth.03 Reply- +1 y
At least you agree the Earth has an axis so you're not TOTALLY ignorant.
- +1 y
They did studies and found out the main cause of current global warming is green house gases, not the Milankovitch cycle, not solar activity, not any other nonsensical claim you deniers come up with.
- +1 y
And saying global warming is not real is like sticking your fingers in your ear and saying "Lalala! I can't hear you!".
We have measurements, charts and it's hotter now than the past hundreds of thousands of years.

+1 y''Billions'' is a little high estimate :)
Be a little more conscious about swimming pools, don't take a 30 minute shower three times a day, and don't exaggerate with industrial production of uselessness.
No tree will be cut because of some people moving in. It's more the greed of those who are already there that causes issues.011 Reply- +1 y
So feeding more by expanding farms and building more apartments doesn't cause deforestation?
- +1 y
And the WEF and UN said we will have a billion climate refugees by 2030, and yet these clowns want open borders.
- +1 y
You now get an idea of how the native Americans must have felt back then.
I do share your wish that humans deal more responsibly with our planet.
And indeed: the high number of ''us'' causes troubles. When I was born the world was about half as full as it is now.
I just find that locking out anyone could be a mistake. In one's own country much of the population is of lower ''human value'' than than much of the guys seeking to join.
I try to not make this here a ''left-right'' issue only.
WHO are usually the guys to cut down trees and nature for say- building certain pipelines?
What happened during last year's draughts in the U. S.'s west? - Farmers were cut off so that industry can continue producing ''goods''; while a few hundred miles away the ''successful'' ones were splish splashing in their home pools, and numerous super-ego's were playing golf on areas where trees are few.
The ones who CAUSED this rather belong to the non-left spectrum, don't they?
Also: large mansions often can house a dozen or more people; not just a family of 4 that has wealth privileges.

So you want to repeat the collapse or Rome and the Bronze Age collapse, instead of reducing the population by keeping our borders closed?
- +1 y
''Your'' collapse is already under way. Can't you see it?
- +1 y
I know. So why not build that border wall instead of being defeatist?
- +1 y
Walls don't last. Think Berlin :)
- +1 y
I can counter that with the Great Wall of China. Derp.
- +1 y
China's ''Wall''... It's a mere tourist attraction now - and a reminder of better days.
So much about ''derp''. But thanks - I didn't know this word until now :)
Shall we include the ''Limes'' or the 'Walls of Jericho'?
Apparently, your political indoctrination does not allow a conversation based on thoughts only.
But feel free to continue throwing 'insults' if it makes you feel better :) - they'll bounce off your own wall, though :D
- +1 y
Hope you can survive what's coming. Bahahahaha!
- +1 y
I have not enough years left to see the important part of the coming collapse. Nor am I living in a ''risk-area''.
It's YOU to worry :D
The rate of kindness that we grant to others is usually returned in the same quality.
And if it's indeed desperate ''billions'' - I don't see what some 320something million arrogant people want to achieve with a silly wall :)
I suggest that 'you' also build a wall on the seas. To close some gaps, I mean. And be careful about tunnels as well.
Goooooood luck :D

01 Reply- +1 y
Systemic racism is not real. Climate refugees are a thing and currently happening worldwide.
8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I mean.. Why would it be impossible? If there is a will there is a way. Also I find it strange that you think refugees is worsening climate change.

Cutting down forests in order to feed and house 6 billion climate refugees adds lots of co2 into the atmosphere...
- +1 y
You think deforestation for farms and housing is good for the environment?
Also, we're about to have a climate migration crisis in the US as the west is running low on water. Where will you stick these billions of refugees?
And how will they adapt when most jobs are gone via automation?
You libs love crime, mass homelessness, and societal collapse - +1 y
There is not a requirement to cut down forests to feed and house more people. It is an easier way but there are alternatives. Also, those billions of people already exist meaning they already cut down the forests and whatnot somewhere else to "pay" for them and if you take them in then the places they came from would be able to let the previous locations regrow and result in a net neutral action.
Also the whole jobs question is not a problem with automation but a problem with capitalism which means you will have to change capitalism to something else that functions with our modern day. - +1 y
How you breathe everyday?
I'm surrounded the dumbest people on the web.
You're up there. But at least you don't deny global warming so I will give you that.
But your solutions and answers to the seriousness of this dilemma is laughable. - +1 y
All I can do is wait until we collapse and majority of idiots are dead until we can make real change...
- +1 y
Speaking of breathing problems, dont hold your breath for the collapse. Idiots like you are always going on about idiotic stuff like that to justify how you are correct.
But I do have to commend you for being so incorrect on every single topic you touch. I can scarcely imagine what subjects you were actually taught about in school because evidently these ain't it. - +1 y
Until our elites spend trillions of dollars on solar geoengineering I will have hope.
But considering our co2 is exactly where it was during the pliocene when all locations of our present day coastal cities and 80 percent of nuclear power plants were underwater, and tipping points are already happening right now, it is already too late.
We will collapse as a civilization by 2030 due to droughts and food shortages in the mid west.
Sea level rise will come shortly after that. - +1 y
By 2030, millions in the western states will be without water and will have to flee to the east causing inflationary strain and political unrest in the east.
Droughts in the west caused native American civilizations in the past to collapse. - +1 y
It would be better if you asked how I know all this... That's how normal non-drifters communicate.
- +1 y
I know exactly "How you know that" because its the dumbed down version of what is actually going to happen and is as such, incredibly flawed and not to be taken literally or as a base for future predictions.
Basically, you are way out of your zone of understanding and attempting to make predictions using facts you can't even begin to wrap your head around. - +1 y
Well, I'm just glad I have a bunker.
You have money and I would recommend you buy one. We need more people to survive the coming apocalypse to repopulate the planet. - +1 y
More freedom and fun during an apocalypse. Less people.
