But the point isn't whether or not life sucks HERE. But that life would suck for people. The point of a humanitarian crisis is that you're trying to make people's lives suck less. Not find the best way to keep them out and let them rot. That's why countries take refugees in the first place.
Your idea has the attitude of "the best way to deal with sewage is to dump it in someone else's back yard".
Like, I get the idea. Have them come in through legal means and whatnot. Hope you're ready for THAT process. Because simply not letting people in isn't going to be an option much to our benefit.02 Reply- +1 y
How will you house the migrants? Cut more forests down?
- +1 y
That'll be a bridge to cross if we get to that point. All the more reason to avoid getting to that point.
Now, if they had some refugee crisis caused by their own policies, that would be something else entirely. But I have trouble justifying it in the case of an issue the whole world has contributed to.
by the way, what are your thoughts on how effective a wall would be? I'd be interested to hear. My understanding is that most come via plane and overstay their visa. But I'm not in Texas and it's probably different there.
One thing people do miss in the conversation is that immigrants themselves are especially frustrated with illegal immigration. It's why Dems are losing the Latino vote. They act like they're some monolith and vote purely on their ethnic background.
But yeah a global refugee crisis would definitely be something different from that.
Also I love your account name.

So the elites are stupid and want revolution and societal collapse?

Of course. Then they’re in control, you’ll own nothing and you’ll be happy.

Whoo! Idiocracy!

8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. First: Refugees is like free money, its incredibly beneficial for the country they come to. The reason a bunch of European countries is gobbling them up is not because they have to or feel morally compelled but because its like liquid crack for their economy and social progress.
Secondly, how about you actually do something about the problem for once? You know, Climate Change? At this rate Canada might have to worry about climate refugees from USA.
But lastly and most importantly. You can't build a border wall on the southern border. After all these years of having it explained, you still dont get it. USA does not have the ability to construct an effective border wall that long and even if you did it would be utterly pointless to stop people crossing the border. It is fucking embarrassing having to talk about this still.038 Reply- +1 y
Refugees are more likely to use welfare. Not sure what you're talking about.
- +1 y
Native people are more likely to require an upbringing which costs hundreds of thousands of dollars. The money given to refugees are pittance in comparison and they are usually in working age which means they can start contributing to society very quickly and not waste decades as a kid or in school.

I'm so glad to live in Alabama where rent is cheap after our governor banned illegals from getting public housing.
You sanctuary states can enjoy your homeless epidemics. - +1 y
Only an idiot wants housing prices to go up.
Flipping houses is a joke market. - +1 y
I have several homes and why would I care if the monetary value went up? Better to have higher housing supply than having homeless people camping in my neighborhood.
- +1 y
First of all, there is the issue of inflation. If house prices does not go up you are actively losing value. Secondly, houses are the major way lower and middle income people build their economic foundation. If they go down then it is they who suffer economically.
Like it or not, the value of your home is an important part in our economic system right now. If they do not go up then that means people are getting poorer by the day. - +1 y
Housing prices going up means people are getting poorer?
How the fvck does that make sense?
It means people are homeless and unable to buy housing.
I have my house. Nobody is taking that away from me.
But go ahead, you libs can continue to accept billions of climate refugees during a water shortage and mass automation. - +1 y
California is already having muggings of naive liberals like yourself. No offense. But you clowns deserve what you vote for.
- +1 y
Explain how increased homelessness, crime, and ghetto trash camping out makes people wealthier.
You libs love destroying civilization. - +1 y
Housing gaining value means prices go up and people that you mentioned, poor and middle class cannot afford to pay their mortgage.
What twisted opposite logic are you relying on? - +1 y
Maybe if I'm willing to sell my house, your logic makes sense, but why would I sell my house?
I'm in no need to sell. - +1 y
In USA you on average moves 11 times in your life and even if you do not the property you pass onto your children is worth significantly more than what it was when you got it yourself meaning they are in a better financial situation than you were when you bought it.
Things like crime and homelessness is social problems that needs to be handled through social programs. Its not a question of house prices. - +1 y
Crime should be handled with social services? Bahahahaha.
You liberal elites are so naive. Hope you like the thugs breaking into your gated communities in Beverly Hills.
And everything else you said is nonsense.
Nobody cares about the arbitrary value of their home unless they're selling it. - +1 y
What idiot moves 11 times in their life? Bahahahaha.
- +1 y
Maybe get a job and quit being a drifter.
- +1 y
Nobody cares about the value of their homes unless they are selling it? Well aside from the fact that you can financially benefit from the value of your home even without selling it such as using it as collateral when borrowing money, does this mean you would be fine with having a 100% inheritance tax?
I mean, if you dont intend to sell it and you dont care about its value why not just have the government take it after you die? Yeah, I thought you might object to that.
Also who moves 11 times in their lives? Most people. That is how "Average" works.
Lastly, I dont care what you think about social problems. You are obviously an idiot as opposed to the actual experts in criminology I have had seminars with. - +1 y
Dude, why would you use your house as collateral? If you need a loan, you don't deserve a house.
And criminology?
You know poverty, homelessness breeds desperation which breeds crime, right?
You think collapsing your own civilization makes people happy and peaceful?
Bahahahaha! - +1 y
That's another thing about libs. They are pseudo-intellectual and their parents paid their way through college, but they have low IQs and are usually dumber than a box of rocks.
They lack fluid intelligence. - +1 y
Dude, I have never moved 11 times in my life.
I've been staying in 3 homes all my life and never moved once. One was inherited.
What lifestyle do live? Because it's not normal. - +1 y
If you're so worried about inheritance tax, don't be a lib. Bahahahaha!
- +1 y
Wow.. you are really dumb. There are countless reasons why you might want a loan such as starting a new business or just making money. You should read up on financial leverage if nothing else because that is one of the easier ways to earn a lot more money than you normally should.
And yes, Criminology. That is the name of the study into crime. The thing that exposes you as a bumbling idiot that dont know what you are talking about.
Also careful with your fluid intelligence so it won't slosh out your ears as you ponder what "Average" means. Yes, people move during their lives. The average American around 11 times. This is normal and honestly I think its a good thing to move around and experience new locations as well as take advantage of new opportunities.
Sitting on your hands for your entire life sounds like a terrible way to live. But yeah, dont expect much more from insular people like you. - +1 y
Dude, if you need a loan for a business, you aren't that rich...
Maybe if you quit moving to every single house and quit being a drifter you wouldn't be poor and having to get a loan. Just saying. - +1 y
*Sitting on my hands*
I'm sorry you're constantly miserable and in the need to move 11 times at the age of 31.
What... did you leave a house every single year of your life?
You must be a sad, distracted man. - +1 y
And no, you don't know jack crap about Criminology.
Any criminologist knows crime goes up when poverty, rents, and food prices go up.
Sociologists know revolution goes up when there's less jobs, mass migration, and higher food prices.
First French Monarchy allowed for open borders too. It took Robespierre to secure the borders.
Weimar Republic also loved immigrants. That didn't turn out well either.
This goes back to basic writings of Thomas Malthus. Maybe you should read up on Malthus before debating me, chump. - +1 y
You'll find out the hard way when billions die in the next 10 years based on climate data I gathered over the past few years.
You libs are in for a real treat. ;) - +1 y
Dude.. Rich people use leveraged investments even more than poor people. It is literally a way to increase your profits by orders of magnitude. If you have a million dollars to invest in a project you can get the benefits of investing 100 million and if you have 100 million you can get the benefits of investing 10 billion etc..
Literally, not using leverage is not a sign of being poor but a sign of missing out on profit which is something rich people are not known to do.
Also your childish understanding of crime rates is hilarious. The most expensive countries to live in are countries like Iceland or Switzerland etc.. Not necessarily places known for their high crime rates not to mention that the cost of living is ALWAYS going up. Ever heard of inflation? By contrast most crime in developed countries is going DOWN.
There is more evidence for crime going DOWN when the cost of living goes up than the other way around. Not saying that is true either but that you are just categorically wrong.
As for your shallow understanding of history, please just stop. Its an even thornier subject than the far less complicated subject of criminology and you are fucking that one up enough already. - +1 y
I'm rich and make investments and get richer without having to pay interest.
Why would you want to pay interest?
Secondly, enjoy the next 10 years is all I can say. I hope you are prepped, have a bunker and have stored food. - +1 y
'Crime goes down when food prices go up'
We're done... - +1 y
Why would rich people want to pay interest? To make even more money. This is not rocket science. Again, this is about the only reliable ways you can add more zeros to your bank account if you are already wealthy.
Quite frankly considering how bad you are at finances you deserve to be in the lower or middle class. - +1 y
I have been investing, profiting, and accruing interest. I never took out a loan in my life.
Loans are for poor people. - +1 y
Now that interest rates are soaring right now, your logic still makes no sense when I already have money.
I can make money with the money I already have. So please explain why I need a loan? - +1 y
You are handling money like a bum off the street. The obligatory, I am not your financial advice and you should handle your finance personally bladi bladi bla.
Lets use an oversimplified example of why it makes sense to use loans (and why everyone and their mother uses it in the professional financial world).
Lets say you have an investment, could be into a company, could be in stocks, does not matter. What matters is that you have estimated that this investment will give you 10 times your investment. Sounds awesome! Lets invest. You have 1000 monopoly money to invest which means that you have an estimated profit of 9000 monopoly money.
Pretty good right? Well what if that is not good enough. Not by a long shot. What if we instead of investing those 1000 we instead take out a loan for 100 times our money and invest 101 000. Now our profit is 909000.
Unless your interest rate is astronomical you just made SOOO much more money that simply investing the original 1000 you had without having to have that money in the first place.
Join me next time in finance 101, how to not suck at leveraged stocks when we discover that Stupidsigninpage dont know what he is doing and probably should not be allowed to handle his own money. - +1 y
Yeah, loaning money to make more makes sense when you have no money.
I will give you that.
But I have money, and reinvest and keep reinvesting. - +1 y
I operate several businesses and loan money to people. I have no need for a loan.
- +1 y
It literally does not matter how much money you have, loaning more always makes sense. If you have 1000 monopoly money to invest or if you have 100 000 000 monopoly money to invest you still earn more if you borrow 100 times what you have. I did not think you would fail basic math.
- +1 y
Why not use the money you already have?
If you need a loan to invest, you're either not rich or you don't know how to invest.
Can banks loan out more money than what you currently have?
6.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No. It's absurdly expensive and harmful to Americans that leave near the border.

Does it make you hard knowing you are collapsing your own civilization and accelerating human extinction?
How will you house the billions of refugees? More deforestation?

Saying i told you so i told you so and maintaining my own humanity helping as many people as possible until the enviable end is my favorite flavor of revenge.
Like your wall is saving anyone. I don't feel that bad. Nessesity is the mother of invention maybe new technology is created saving the world. If not plan b "i told you so i told you so. I'm equally content - +1 y
So allow civilization to collapse so you can starve and be homeless. Got it.
Take your deluded empathy and shove it.
With all borders secure, and allowing the invaders to die, I am guaranteeing a better future for the remaining 2 billion people on the planet, reforestation will occur and absorb most of the co2 we released since the IR.
So which is more empathic? Closing the border to prevent human extinction or societal collapse or leaving it wide open to trigger societal collapse and human extinction? - +1 y
Either way, a malthusian crisis is coming. And a second renaissance will follow after lawns are unkept and trees grow back after reduced demand for housing and farming, which means mother nature heals herself.
12.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No. You dunce. As most people will fly in.
What backwards village you living in?01 Reply- +1 y
They will fly in when their countries' currency has imploded? How will they afford a plane ride?
