Where I live they are taking about taking 1 million people in by 2035. We are a country of 5 million. There's a major housing shortage, shortage of college places, high taxes, increase in crime and people are being evicted for refugees to be moved in, hotels are full of refugees paid for by the taxpayer. The youth are being forced to emmigrate and refugees moved in.
Recently a student was turned down for college after graduating from secondary school with the highest marks possible so refugees can go to college.
All military aged men too.
You sound like those tree huggers a few years back that after the fur trade was banned to prevent thousands of minks from being slaughtered decided to break in and release them into the wild. The problem being that minks aren't a native species and have now become an invasive species thriving, slaughtering the native species because they've mo natural predators and are now destroying the environment.
Why is that those that are in favour of immigration and green energy are not the ones who have to sacrifice anything for it.
Not really, as the vast majority are economic migrants, predominantly from corrupt countries. Yes some of those countries do have high temperatures, however that is not the main reason for becoming an illegal. Albania is not exactly a country hit by global warming as you might have in equatorial Africa, however they make up a high proportion of illegals and people smugglers.
That question would be along the lines of ‘can recent climate changes around the globe have an impact on economy?’
The Albanian thing still stands, the vast majority of illegals are economic ones that are not linked to climate changes. Those that arrive are often involved in illegal activities and then return home once they have made enough money or it’s getting hot. They then return at a later date and repeat.
Albania is far in excess of those other areas, Afghanistan because it’s a dying country for centuries. Iran and Iraq are from war, ditto Syria. We get people from India, it has a space program and is one of the most prosperous countries, easily in top ten. Out of all those countries 3000 ish are from countries likely to suffer from temperature changes.
Not really. For one immigration is something you can deal with on a national level while global warming requires global solutions unless we are talking about adapting to a new climate.
Moreover a society needs to remain functional to address such a issue.
People won't care about hotter summers while they are fighting a religious civil war.
@msc545 Well immigration is more of a issue for countries in less hot climates while global warming is more of a issue for countries close to the equator that have less of a issue with illegal immigrants and are more sources of it.
At this point that may be true. Although I can tell you that I live in Southern California and right now in September it is 105°. Fahrenheit where I live. Everyone here is concerned about global warming.
The climate always changes. We are at the end on an Interglacial warming period. In previous Interglacials, the poles melted entirely. Suggestion to people living a few thousand years, move inland.
You must be living in a cave. Sources are everywhere. Try hard to look them up. "Global warming" is the greatest hoax of the both centuries, right after Communism.
