Not a fan of him tbh. Judging by polls his party won the battle, but is losing the war... badly. haven't paid much attention since he helped create no go zones for the native population due to radical islam, same as Merkel. So I'll never like the guy. I'm always going to be a populist and nationalist, not a globalist. We all have our own cultures and identities and I value mine above the rest.
Why? Because my country Is my home, regardless of how flawed it is. People in New York are going to have different values from people in Saudi Arabia or Shanghai. And until those views change to something more... civilized I don't want said people sharing our land and resources or having any say in our political arena. It doesn't mean we can't get along.
It doesn't mean we can't cooperate. It doesn't mean we can't send medical aid and life saving technology or cures or coming to an allies aid should they be invaded. But it does mean that each nations needs to remain independent from one another, have its own national identity, national goals, national security and boarders. Humans have a knack for becoming fair weathered friends on a national level based on history.
Not entirely surprising. He has been fairly visible on the national stage and while not a perfect leader he is good enough to benefit from the normal reaction people have when feeling threatened which is to flock to their "side" hence when Russia invaded Ukraine the French people were more likely to support their current leader which was Macron.
Long-winded way to say, he lucked out. Also it helps that his opponent is a complete lunatic. So yeah.. Macron.. dont love him, dont hate him, rate him fairly lowly but he at least want what is best for France even if he and I might disagree on what that might be.
The 42% for the right is worrying.
He is a better choice for France and for Europe too. Not saying he is a good choice but better than Le Pen. Hopefully now with the end of pandemic he can do more, as handling a pandemic is a probing task to any politician and government
Oh don’t worry. Exit polls from France have shown that its actually the younger voters who support Le Pen the most.
From a strictly security standpoint, I think it’s good for France and the entire western alliance. The rise of these Russia friendly populists is troubling and a threat to the world order.

im visiting soon so good, stability! it's their country, I was fine with either.
I guess it means french continue to look for a way out to the USA so all their work isn't ripped out their hands by the govt... although, USA is begrudgingly heading their direction.
Another term of French decline and irrelevance on the world stage, though it's arguably better to choose the devil you know over the devil you don't.
I actually prefer that because Le Pen would have meant another issue in Europe, it´s not like the Russian invasion plus Covid, the problem of how to handle Turkey´s interest in becoming of the EU and inflation aren´t enough problems.
DAMN IT, FRANCE! You cucked bastards! Damn it, they never learn! France is like the California of Europe!
He's a lousy option, but the best they had available.
Now that he’s won, can he please go back to talking to Putin and ending this senseless war. Please Mr Macron can you be the voice of reason and bring about positive change. Viva la France 🇫🇷
@MCheetah He was talking to him before he won.
Out of two pro-putin candidates, it's better for the world to have moderately pro-putin candidate, even though when it comes to world view I'm closer to Le Pen.
Sadly, I do not know him. and just hope it was fair and what the people wanted.
I may not share all his ideas.
But -in a way- he makes ''France greater again'' :D
Not knowing a great deal about French politics, I can't say much, but good for him all the same.
Simples...
My comment is "duh".
His only opponent was a far-right extremist who has Putin's arm so far up her asshole that she counts as a sock puppet.
The question is, will his victory make any real difference to anything in the long term? I'm guessing it will not.
Just happy that the far-right pro cultural war princess lost
After all the protests/riots France had the past several years, I am legitimately shocked to see him win again.
Yes Viva France! Viva Macron.
The French Presidential electoral process is pure genius
Whatever. I would've preffered LePen, but at least Macron isn't taking shit from the Muslims
Nothing it doesn't affect me
Merci, people of france.
Not surprising, Europe seems bent on self destruction just like we are.
With less than before, huh?
He a puppet for Soros, only good thing outta France is the booze hopefully he won't fuck that up
The people of france deserve what they get
It's a victory of sanity and reason over fascist populism, demagoguery and stupidity.
Not surprised really.
Good
apparently, the french love dictators xD
Apparently you don't know the meaning of dictator. That's Victor Orban, the Hungarian president.
@Squaresquirrel well if you have a totalitarian regime that does not listen to what the people want, that's a dictatorship in my opinion.
RIGGED ASF.
Ballots ripped
wow what a surprise.
I'm just enjoying paris burning.
Elections are all rigged no way that fucker won
