Could Macron lose power in the parliamentary election and could this lead to president Le Pen?

I know he announced a parliamentary election not a presidential one but I wonder if losing power in parliament could lead to presidential election where Le Apen could win.

It's not impossible, especially if the right-wing party joins forces with the RN.


Consider that Ciotti, the president of the right-wing party, has decided to ally himself with the RN for the legislative elections. I find that scandalous. The top brass of the right wanted to depose Ciotti, but he locked himself in his office, and was finally able to keep control of the presidency.


The various left-wing parties, including Mélenchon's, which is actually the dominant left-wing party, decided to get together and call themselves the popular front.


This is the current state of politics in France.


So, yes, the RN could win, but it's legislative and could be a trap for the RN. Indeed, if the RN gets an absolute majority, they'll have to manage the debt, the Olympic Games (I have a feeling it's going to be a disaster) etc., and probably the RN won't be able to manage all that in such a short space of time, so people won't be voting for them in the presidential elections.


Or else the RN has a relative majority and won't be able to do much, but that still leaves them the possibility of winning the presidential elections, especially if they form an alliance with the right.

I did see some news about the parties on the right not supporting RN because they are more centrist.

The party system is so much more complicated in Europe than America.

But the president of the Republicans is allying himself with the RN for the legislative elections.

If you want my opinion on the ability of the RN or the Popular Front to govern, my opinion will not be very positive.

I understand since I am rather pessimistic about the state of politics in America.

Hopefully things improve in both nations.

He won't lose any power cause in France the president have a secret cards the 49.3 which he can use as much as he want to make descision alone, which is basically a dictator cards.

The whole French parliament is a joke to play democracy but in the end the president is free to pass all law alone without anybody stopping him.

It does seem like the French president is more like a king than a president.

Most European countries that have a president and a parliament the parliament is more powerful (like Germany and Italy) while in France the parliament is under the president.

No, because the presidential elections are separate from the general parliamentary elections. Macron is elected till 2027. But it could lead to a different prime minister.

@handsomelad70 I don't either, but don't be too concerned about that colour of the map, 81% of total population live in urban areas, and they're the bits that are not brown. It's like looking at a map of counties in the US, ignoring that some contain 5 million people and some contain 25 people (both in Texas).
