If someone asked you to convince them that your political leaning is the correct one, how would you do it?

I'd ask them if they think they're correct, and when they say yes, I'd ask them if they think their political opposition is correct, and when they say yes, I'd tell them that you both think you're correct but you both can't be correct, so just because you think you're correct doesn't mean you are. Then I'd ask them if it's okay to be wrong and impose your wrong ideas onto others who don't agree with it, and then they'd say no and I'd tell them that we then need to outlaw the bare necessities for a decent, functioning society (murder, theft, private property rights, etc), and everything else that is debatable should be people's liberties.

If they're not convinced, I'd ask them if their life was in shambles before a law they like was implemented, they'd probably tell me no. And then I'd say then life is just fine without that law, and it isn't necessary to implement it.

If it's an opposite (ex: extreme left-wing person), I'd ask them to show me evidence that their policies ever worked in any country to eliminate abject poverty, extend lifespans, enable social mobility among lower classes, avoid children rummaging through dumpsters for food, etc.

I'd ask them to show me a country where people actually want to move there that implements their ideology.

If they can't talk about that, we're talking about fantasies as far as I see it. They don't even have a working prototype. We might as well talk about Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty.

But I'm not an ideologue. I'm an engineer. If someone shows me the world's tallest building, I'm down to subscribe and learn about the techniques involved and adopt them as my own. If someone just says they have an idea for the world's tallest building when all their examples have crumbled to the ground, then I have no interest.

Meanwhile, my ideas of what makes a great country have consistently worked. They've consistently built developed nations throughout the world. They've raised them out of the rubble of poverty. They've made them world leaders. I have overwhelming examples that my ideas work. I am not an ideologue. I'm someone with results.

Usually wouldn't even bother, as most people are set in their ways and open to even discussion on anything.

The only thing I ever really state is that policies that work in big cities, do not work in Rural so get your head out of your ass and realize not everyone lives in a big city, stop being so selfish and only caring about yourself.

I get tired of people telling me to take mass transit, when they are so ignorant that they cannot even comprehend that there is no such thing here.

I've tried having polite conversations with people, just trying to understand their side, not even trying to convince them of anything, but just understand them, and all I get in response are insults and vitriol.

It just seems like a waste of time to me, so why bother?

Fairly easy, explain the merits of universal health care, the ability for choice to be made in abortions, an actual living wage,

if they do not agree with me, either:

Nail the fuckers to a cross and decorate the nearest motorway with all who do not agree.

or double tap and shallow grave.

I would say my strict federal Constitutional conservative political leaning generally allows a place where they and everyone else can have whatever they want politically, economically, and social. In a way that is relatively safe for the people given it simply protects the safety valve ability of the people to vote with their feet.

As such I am not really asking them to agree with me on any issue other than the need to strictly adhere to a minimalist government at the top.
