Because, even if every single theory about human-caused climate change was true (even the ones proven false), the VAST majority of climate change has nothing to do with humanity. And because humans are actually one of the animals with the LEAST effect on our environment, relative to our biomass- and that didn't come from "indigenous tribes" (which burn wood like nobody's business) or "non-offending nations" (which tend to just offshore their industrial production to China). The advances came from those fancy, high-income, high-consumption societies you so deride.

It's even worse for war; the best antidote to that is wealth for the average citizen, and that means more energy consumption.

How about adding "starvation"?
*Indigenous Tribes have wars. Our "Indians" sure did. They still will.
*The climate always changes. We have had warm periods during human history before humans discovered fossil fuels. And guess what? if CO2 in the atmosphere doubles to 800 ppm, world wide starvation will end and the world will continue to get greener.

Who would exterminate "most of the human species"? Maybe the Chinese by making another weaponized virus? But they will die too.

That might be a good thing but humans don't cause climate change. They may have some minor effect but humans cannot change when or volcanoes occur, the location of the continents, tilt of the earth, the cycle of the sun, nor the path and location of the planets. Let alone the location of the stars which has some effect such as when a star explodes into a supernova.
