Half a year ago, I would have said that it's no option to anyone (who's big enough).
Putin has very much surprised and also disappointed me; add his buddies.
The previous ''world wars'' were heated up because one side just would not stop; and continue to ''expand''.
I can't (yet) see that about Ukraine and beyond; so I guess the opening conditions now are different.
The ''political'' and ''economical'' harm is already huge, though.

We should also be careful to not be distracted from the other present ''world wars'': the disregard and damage that we do against our planet.
