What is a time you felt less than equal and how do you feel it affected you?

Has anyone ever told you no, or doubted you or mistreated you and you felt like it was because of your gender? How did it affect your world view and guide your actions?

When my family gave unnecessary resistance to me asking them to change the way they do things when around me. The requests weren't major ones. They were small ones. And reasonable & loving people wouldn't have resisted in the ways they did. Especially not for a minor change on their part. Where the cost-benefit analysis has far more extreme consequences on my end.

I have conditions that make my life harder so it was a major thing for me! And since they're family & are supposed to be more loving than strangers, it's weird that they knew about my conditions yet still did what they did. Still acted in highly disagreeable ways.

And yeah, I can't help but feel they would have treated me differently if I was rich, a different gender, more successful, more sycophantic, etc. They have that fakeness about them. A fakeness that I would never have towards them.

As a result, I will not be able to view them in the same way. I may put on smiles & act agreeable enough to not cause uneccessary drama, but I notice I don't care about them as much now. I have less empathy for them. And I don't believe I'll ever feel differently.

And it didn't really change my world view or my views on humanity. It only gave me more confirmation of them.
