Only in my mind, lmao. I think of a Karen as, first and foremost, someone who complains to get what they want, usually stepping on someone else’s toes, often directly and purposely. That’s not me at all. There are times I get frustrated with situations.

For example, when I go to public “stick time” hockey sessions at the rink, many times I just want to be by myself and work on my basic skills, because I’m still learning, and I don’t get much time to do that on the ice. I get to play two informal games and one league game three nights a week. I play plenty of competitive hockey. What I need to be able to do is just practice shooting, stickhandling, skating with the puck, etc, not necessarily alone, but not being in the middle of fast-paced actual hockey. But more often than not, someone is trying to rope me into playing a game, and even if I can dodge that, sometimes these guys will just play full ice games, and I could kind of kick around and shoot when they go to the other end, but it’s back and forth all the time, I’d always be in the way, always having to look over my shoulder…. and they could play half-ice, but they don’t want to, and they’re banking on me not making a thing about it.

And I don’t, haha. But part of me kind of wishes I could go to the rink supervisor and be like “hey man, I paid my money like anyone else, there’s no rule that I HAVE TO play in a pickup game, and you should tell these guys they have to keep it to half-ice games if somebody doesn’t want to play and just wants to practice.” But I don’t know, I’m just not a feather ruffler like that. I don’t want to disrupt 10-12 people to accommodate just me, even if they kind of should, in principle. I just don’t like to be “that guy”, haha.

So basically situations where I’m being inconvenienced and I have a legitimate gripe, I just eat it because I really can’t be fucked to cause a stir. I really try to live my life without giving too much of a shit in most situations.

Me: "No, I need you to fire the waiter or I will be forced to go to the cops"
SPG: *nervous sweating* "Ma'am, the manager is on a vacation. Please understand"

No. Karen just wants attention, and she only knows one way to get it. I feel sorry for Karen. It's so much easier to be a nice person, but for some reason, that didn't work for Karen.
