The question is a bit of a misnomer. Republicans - and a few Democrats - are not objecting to the babies of illegal immigrants getting food. Rather, the issue arose specifically after Jen Psaki, the White House Press Secretary, announced that the Biden Administration had known about the rising baby formula supply issues for about three months and said or did nothing about it.
It was in this context that the revelation about palates of baby formula going to the border became controversial. This particularly emphasized when, just yesterday, the administration announced its 3 point plan to deal with the baby formula shortage and it, quite honestly, did not amount to much.
Like it or not, people can be very unreasonable like that. If they find that they cannot feed their own children, they are not apt to shrug and smile and say, "Oh well, as long as someone else's kids are eating, I'm good with that."
Call it a character flaw if you will.
Then, as a political matter, they are not apt to throw in, "Phew! Thank goodness my elected leaders prioritized someone else's children over mine - especially when they don't seem to have been all that concerned about mine and could have maybe headed off the problem."
Again, people can be so unreasonable like that.
Here's the fun part. Those children of illegal immigrants at the border will get all the food they need by the force of law. There is no such law to protect the children of parents in this country. This not being improved by the ten thumbed incompetence of the Biden Administration.
So cheer up. Those babies at the border will have a feast. The rest... well... hope they get lucky and find a store that sells baby formula somewhere.

There's a national baby formula shortage due to the FDA jacking up, and it' illegal to import it (though some do) despite the EU having higher standards. Shelves are empty, the solution is not to ship what little is being produced to illegal immigrants on taxpayer dollars, but to cut that and put that amount back into circulation.
Blame it on Republicans if you want, but the FDA is part of the executive branch which puts this cock-up squarely in Biden, or the Democrats sphere of influence.
No. It's because American babies of all races (not just white) are running out of formula. So should we keep sending formula that we can't spare? I guess we will help people from other countries who's country should be the one helping them and let black, white, Latino, American Indian, Asian, and middle eastern babies suffer.
We as Americans help when we can. But if helping means depriving American citizens then no. You have no clue what people with new borns who are unable to breastfeed their babies are going through not being able to find the formula they need to ensure their babies health.
That is the only reason we need (not want) to stop sending formula American babies need. And hopefully we can think of some sort of alternative to help all the babies in need.
So stop making it sound like republicans just don't want to help immigrant babies for no good reason.
It has nothing to do about race, color, or political affiliation. Babies from the US need formula and shelves are completely empty in many places. Mothers can only produce so much milk, and I know families that are in a really difficult place not getting the food that their babies need. Of course we don’t want babies in Mexico to be hungry, but we need to focus on our own needs as a country first. Then we can render aid once we have the capabilities to. NOT before.
This whole the US needs to be the worlds superman attitude seems to be all well and good for a lot of people tell it comes down to people putting their money where their mouth is. Because often the same people pushing it are very quick to give everyone a reason why they personally shouldn't have to do it themselves. Like they would expect everyone to take away formula from their baby to send to the border. But when it comes time for them to do the same, here comes the reason why they shouldn't have to.
Things like SSI are earned benefits if people have worked and their taxes pay for it. No when we start talking about expanding the benefits to people who are unwilling to work or non-citizens I'm going to quickly say no. Also when it comes to unemployment it's meant to be a stop gap for people that are actively looking for a job after they lose one. But I think the duration of unemployment does need to be shortened. Because like it or not we might have to take one or two low earning jobs like a retail job tell we find a better job that pays close to the one we lost. Having a long unemployment benefit window does make people less likely to bite the bullet and take one or two power paying jobs to keep themselves afloat while they look for something close to the one they had.
I moved to a new state for a job and was laid off months after due to the company slashing their operations budget. I got one unemployment payment and wound up working the day shift at a super market and the grave yard shift before I got a 2nd one. So I do have an issue with people taking more then a couple weeks on it. Simply because if I was able and willing to take two crap jobs as stop gaps instead of staying on unemployment tell the benefits ran out.
The border crisis is out of control and no country should expect for another country to be taking care of them and their people.
The Mexican government should doing something about helping those people at the border, and not just dump all their problems at the feet of the U. S. to slove and fix.
In saying all that, the Republican party is a party of pricks.

Nationality is important because we need to give people a reason to pay into the system. If America's for everyone then there's no reason to stay here and pay taxes. This shortage was set in motion three or four month ago when they closed down the plant that makes almost 3/4 of all baby formula WITHOUT a plan to replace it or reopen the plant knowing full well this shortage would happen this is just part of President Bidens AMERICA LAST.
I thought that the mainstream republican party was pushing for the Biden administration to stop dragging their feet on inspections on the baby formula facility that shut down. If they have adequately cleaned the facility they need to go back into production; and if not they need to get back to cleaning. Is there really any more pressing inspection than of these facilities today?
