+1 yThe general human population is very, very…errrr…misguided at best, and stupid at worst. I don’t put a lot of stock in “what people think”, because it’s usually dumbassery, lmao. What people “want” probably isn’t what’s best, either for them, for me, or for everyone, so we can’t…or at least SHOULDN’T…be so guided by what we want, but rather, what we SHOULD do, whether we like it or we don’t. This can be applied to tons of things, but political approval ratings are a good example. Especially these days, politics is more about a popularity contest than actual substance, and not even so much how popular the politician is as much as it’s about how socially popular/unpopular your political alliances and detractions will make you with your peers in your immediate locality. It’s gone so crazy now, now it’s practically trolling to announce any sort of political opinion, like you’re not saying it for the applause of those who agree, but more so to be regaled in the anguished jeers of people who disagree. People seem to legitimately take pleasure in upsetting other people, and I just genuinely don’t understand that mentality, when the search for that pleasure is the driving force behind publicizing your opinions. It all just seems in completely bad faith these days, just trying to align yourself with “the winning team”, it just feels like people are broadly missing something in their lives and the void needs to be filled with making yourself happy by way of making others upset, and I’ll just never understand that mentality.
For the specific question, I guess it’s a mixed bag. But again, one of the stupidities of humanity to me is believing that people who aren’t you are going to make or break the course of your life. None of these people can save us, folks, sorry to be the one to have to say it, lmao. Approval ratings suggest that any of these people are going to make our lives better or worse, and I just don’t see it happening. My life is what it always has been. I’m on my eighth president of my lifetime, the fourth of my adulthood, and I’ve never felt particularly impacted by any of them, positively or negatively. The stuff they allegedly control aren’t even my main concerns in life. But if you think a president decides how cheap or expensive your gas is, go back to school, lmfao. All of these political parties —and now their accompanying media outlets— know that there will always be problems, and they’ll always try to blame it on the other guys while taking all the credit for any successes. I can watch FoxNews and CNN and get two COMPLETELY DIFFERENT accounts of the same current event, because they’re fucking liars, lmao. Their concern is keeping you tuned in and watching their advertising partners’ commercials. That’s literally all it is. Doesn’t matter if it’s fact, fiction, or in between….. just get mad at the other guys, and while you’re at it, buy this MyPillow so we can charge Mike Lindell a little more next quarter. But the result is an angry and frustrated population, and everyone is mad at the wrong shit for the wrong reasons. But as long as the GDP is up that year, they don’t give a fuck about your feelings.
Look…. these guys and gals are all frauds who are in it for their own profit and power, never get that twisted for a second. NOT FOR A SECOND!!! Life is every-man-for-himself by design, and we try to go against that because of fear of negative outcomes, and this civilization you see is the resulting mess. This whole thing we’re in is broken, and it’s impossible to repair, unless we all agreed to take what many consider an evolutionary step backwards, and I don’t see people turning in their air conditioners and PlayStation 5s to do so.21 Reply- +1 y
One thing I would add, in Biden’s (I guess) “defense”….. everyone realizes that the whole world is going through this same stuff, right? Post-Covid economic struggles are pretty universal right now, so I’m just saying if Biden is the worst POTUS of all-time, then every other president, premier, prime minister, or whatever is also the worst of all-time, or at least in the running. Everything we’re dealing with economically right now should not be a surprise, in America or anywhere else. Demand dropped due to necessary lockdowns to control the spread of Covid. That caused sales and profits to fall almost across the board. What do you think those corporations are going to do when the world opens up? Jack up prices, recoup their losses. Plus, demand is now way up and can’t keep up with supply, as production was halted for many, many products or materials. Gas doesn’t have to cost what it costs today. Oil companies are purposely keeping supply at a certain level so they can gouge us. There’s no oil shortage in the earth, they just aren’t currently drilling for it, otherwise they couldn’t jack us at the pump. The Keystone Pipeline wasn’t built yet, and would’ve created in the neighborhood of 50 jobs —that’s 5-0, two digits— plus it only transports oil, it doesn’t pump it, so it doesn’t even fix supply issues (which are already fake), we’re in the same boat whether the pipeline is there or not. That’s just a conservative talking point. But anyway, anyone with basic knowledge of economics should’ve known the economy would struggle for a year or two coming out of this.

There was no point at all in continuing on with any sort of COVID anything after both the vaccines and boosters failed and the masks never worked to begin with. The only states continuing with any covid restrictions would be new york and california.
Even if you want to blame that for Biden's piss poor performance, the show of leadership would be bouncing back and recovering. Yet every single decision made by the executive branch has neutered any attempt at a recovery of the economy. We aren't producing fuel, ok, so then we should produce the green new deal, we're heading into a famine as farmers lack fuel for equipment and fertilizers. Well, there goes the green in green new deal. How could it get worse? Oh, the FDA which is part of the executive branch fucked up and stopped production of baby formula, and is now trying to blame the market, ugh, I could go on for days.
Any time I turn on the news Democrats are fucking some new doorknob in some new way, and it requires billions of dollars to achieve penetration, we don't need to work, we don't need to pay taxes, tax the rich, and the inflation isn't real/as bad as it seems to be.
That is the flip side of that. It's easy to blame just Biden, but it takes the entire party working with him, and a large number of people screaming for this insane bullshit. I've caught COVID 3 times, my wife caught it twice, it's just here to stay, and nobody is getting wrecked by it in a statistically significant way. Time to go back to work.20 Reply

I think he’s doing a great job despite all the obstacles he has had; inheriting the covid 19 and all it’s variants, and the war in Ukraine. That’ll make any economy go down. So the polls, wherever they’re coming from, do not take that into consideration. They need to remember that Trumps polls showed him once at 37%, and that he said the corona virus would “go away by itself, as soon as a few months”. Surely it did not. Then he wanted people to inject themselves with disinfectant. Do you also know that he said China had created hurricanes to send to us? Oh yes, he did!

They did inherit a mess due to failed lockdown policies and an economy that was juiced with printed money. What did they do? They printed even more money and went on a wasteful spending spree. Even worse, they provoked the Russia-Ukraine conflict instead of deescalating it, then got into a sanctions war with Russia that hurt the West more than Russia. Their confiscation of Afghan and Russian foreign reserves violated the principle of sovereign immunity and has accelerated dedollarization. The West will pay for this in a profound way, although our elites stand to benefit from the concentration of wealth that always happens during severe inflation.
All of this said, most of the Republican political establishment is indistinguishable from the Democrats on foreign affairs and monetary policy, so there will be no help from them. We might get an outsider president, but I don’t see any outsider capable of overcoming the oligarchy that is entrenched in all of the important bureaucracies and institutions. Nothing will improve until the whole establishment is cleared out of the schools, media, bureaucracies, and political party organizations.10 Reply6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. he's actually doing an incredible job by any metric, but especially if you consider where he began.
But, half our media is dedicated to both sidesing everything and nearly all the other half is dedicated to helping republicans get elected. So democrats will never have anything but an uphill environment. The fact that republicans openly sabotage democrats' efforts to fix the things that republicans complain about, but still republicans are certian to get more than one vote, should be all the evidence one needs that there is something very wrong with our media.

He let a bunch of US civilians get trapped in enemy territory
I heard he's wanting to invade somalia? Big no no
He's letting people walk over him and he has shown an incompetent job performance
Him becoming president was an insult to our great nation (trump wasn't much better but he still was better)20 Reply
+1 yFrankly, I'm surprised they're that *high*.
In fairness to Biden, though, approval ratings are mostly the way they are duo to people not understanding what the President is supposed to DO. He's not a king or a prime minister; his job is to protect the country from Congress.10 Reply
Anonymous(25-29)+1 yWe are trying to recover from a forced economic shutdown which I mainly blame congress for because Trump never really wanted to do it and was trying to reopen as soon as possible.
Biden wanted to make an all encompassing vaccine mandate in which both he and Fauci should know that not everyone can get it, yet demonized those who haven't gotten them as threats. To rub salt in the economic wound, he ended a lot of gas leases which raises the price for gas and is still doing it to this day.
Now that the media isn't talking about covid anymore, they are instead blaming Russia for the bad economy in which I hope the general public isn't too stupid to figure out that, while Russia is playing a role, there are things Biden can do to help lessen the blow, such as reinstating those leases, but he isn't doing it.10 Reply26.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I am not sure they are even in the 40s. I think they are lower than that. Biden is not a victim of covid even though more people died when he was in office than Trump and he had vaccines and treatments the were not around when Trump was president. He is a victim of mental decline.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yNo i don’t agree w those numbers. They should be lower. Right now we’re facing a shortage of baby formula here in the states. I wonder why? Maybe because they’re sending a lot of it down to the borders of Mexico to supply the thousands of illegals coming in who have children who also need formula.

+1 yit's a mixed back. his failure of covid is inked to the actions of the stupid and the corrupt. but, his own personal failures is his lack of desire to fight for his agenda. he only won the election because of how terrible things where--it was easily predictable after Trump's bleach controversy... easy come, easy go. all in all--I can't claim to be disappointed--we no longer have a braindead madman in the oval office... that was the most to be expected.

@Amy10223 both sides largely allow political affliction to dictate morality. It sickens how so many liberals complained (rightfully) about the callousness of republicans when it comes to immigrants and protecting people from COVID then, turn around and show that same damn callousness concerning abortion and the stories in defense of it... It makes me sick!

@Amy10223 What I don't understand is why anybody would defend Biden, he is doing a terrible job for everyone. On the other side, I've never killed anyone with a gun and I, against all my beliefs, would accept abortion up to 3 month as something that maybe is necessary. Im against anything over that. but its a democracy and will abide by what te majority would vote for in each state. ope they allow it up to 3 months. It really just a moment I dedicate to this issues, cause there are really much more important things in my life.
- +1 y
@Esperanto Why do I defedn Biden? Goodness, the past 4 years of the nightmare we had with the last president, is enough. From Russian oligarchs at his inauguration (whom no one knew had invitred), to admiring dictator Putin; to threatening our media coverage by taking away the license of one news reporter (Jim Acosta) for a day; to all the lies he told the public, to not acknowledging that a virus was very possibly entering the country in January of 2020 when he was warned but he chose to ignore those warnings; to having kids in cages down the border and separating them from thwir parents; trying to threaten president of Ukraine ro get dirt of Biden's son or else he wouldn't give him money for his country for military aid that year; not accepting that another man had beaten him in the election and telling people his 2nd term was stolen; to the insurrection he created by telling people to "fight like hell" and go to the capitol and storm it--in other words forming a coup de etat. Just like a dictator would do. That's all.
