They don't actually believe in free speech, it scares them. They only believe in free speech so long as you agree with them. They do not like hearing opposing views on social media. They like echo chambers.

Much like how countries in Europe do not have freedom of speech, people think they do, but they do not. The people have been conditioned to think they have it, but there are certain things if you display or talk about will get you in trouble with the law.
