Eventually. There's only so much oil, and while it CAN be produced artifically, that's not economically viable yet. Unfortunately, nothing's in position to take it's place yet, and still more unfortunately, no one seems to care.

There can never be a gas shortage. There can only be supply issues. Either people buying it up too fast or deliveries not able to get there on time.
