No, for several reasons.
1. How would you recover them? There are 1.2 guns for every person in America, though the estimate is that's in about 25% of households, that's spicey.
2. 2nd amendment, whatever, at this point CNC routers and lathes are fairly common in a few industries, you can promote yourself from 3d printed guns and make straight up make guns from a block of metal, anything without a polymer frame unless you want to try at 3d printing. From what I'm seeing I could get a CNC router and lathe to handle rifles and pistols for about 17000 dollars. That would pay for itself very swiftly.
3. They save more lives legally than they take away in crimes. If you're a woman, your chances are not good if a man wants to beat, rape, or kill you, simply with his bare hands. You could hurt him, but what's going to happen will happen. Most of the time when you're carrying a gun you don't even need to draw or shoot. Just showing you're armed will make someone leave. Numbers I read are somewhere between 500,000 and 3 million defensive uses of a firearm every year. The target for most random crimes is old women. My grandma carried a.357, she never shot it once, but she pulled it a few times. I have my wife carry a 9mm, generally I carry when I go to a city. Men can fight back against other men, and aren't picked as targets so much, so I don't need to carry constantly.
4. I like hunting, and some families depend on hunting to survive. More of that will likely be coming up as this year, and next year, move forwards.

They're never going to be banned, and I say that as someone who dislikes guns, and gun culture. It's simply the way it is. It's in the Constitution, it's law, and trying to ban them is fighting a losing battle.
I would like to see uniform gun laws, and more regulation, though. The laws vary too much between the individual states, and it should be more or less the same, across the entire country.
Guns should be like anything else that requires a certain degree of responsibility. Driving a car requires a test, a license, and renewel after however many years. Guns should be the same. They should require a safety and proficiency test before you can legally own, or handle one, as well as a background test.
I also think that people should be required to carry some form of gun insurance, just like a car. In the event that there is any sort of accident, then you're covered for damages/injueies. I think that completing a safety course should even be worth a discount on the premium, just like driver's ed.
I support a person's right to own a gun, even if I, personally, don't like them. I don't think it's unreasonable to have some precautions, and safeguards, in place, though, and I think these are reasonable compromises that address many of the concerns, on both sides.
People can keep their guns, but just add some reasonable layers to go along with responsible gun ownership.
I talked to a guy who was about to get released from prison. I asked him what his plans were. He said his plans were to go back to prison. He released and cut his girlfriend's head off. I think the article said he used a screwdriver. So I think screwdrivers should be banned. Or maybe you should have to undergo criminal background check before being able to purchase one.

5 minutes ago it was "Only the police an military should have guns!"
Two minutes later: Abolish the police!
And I grew up in an era when the US military were called "rapists and butchers!" So which is it?
These people aren't saying anything, they're just screaming noises. I stopped caring a long time ago. ESPECIALLY when these same people set up some commune in the middle of the city and guard it with weapons they say they want banned. https://networkcontagion.us/wp-content/uploads/NCRI-White-Paper-Network-Enabled-Anarchy-25-Sept-259pm.pdf
Oh a mass shooting occurred? Did anyone shoot back? No? Well fck em. If people don't give enough of a sht about their kids to actually protect them, they why should I even participate in the conversation?
"YeA wElL iF ThEY juSt BanNed GuNS!"
*Phillip Luty enters the chat*So you only bring this up after what happened in texas? but what about the hundreds upon hundreds of shootings across the country that have happened just last week with more victims combined?
You only bring up gun control when "mass shootings" happen, for political reasons...
Do you know how many legal guns are in America? hundreds of millions, and match that with a few thousand shootings a year in America... The media focuses on one problem and exaggerates that one problem to create a following against it.
It breaks my heart when i see tragedies like columbine, sandy hook, robb elementary,
Route 91 Harvest music festival and so many more...
But taking away law abiding citizens guns away makes it easier for non law abiding citizens to cause trouble.
There are ghost guns being built, guns are being printed everyday across the united states and the world, its physically impossible to ban guns in the united states or anywhere for that matter.Support it.
People carry guns every day without doing that.
Just like people fuck every day without raping. Not about to now be anti sex because some people people have committed rape. It's a ridiculous take.
Even people trying to broaden it by playing with semantics. "Well guns are intended to kill". Dicks are intended to fuck and piss. We still have laws on doing either in public or against another parties will, yet it still happens.
Outlawing sex won't change thatNo because I don't want to count on authority and the government with my life or my family's lives, I believe that with a gun in my hand, the chances of survival rise a lot when it comes to a home invasion or problems in that category, what's police gonna do, take an hour to arrive?
I feel like they should have a more effective way to keep guns away from people that are stupid or idiotic or aren't sane or anyone that falls in these similar mental levels, guns aren't the problem, people are. They never will get banned,
they dont care about you, your family. Or your kids,
the truth is to them your nobody. If you passed away tomorrow
it wouldn’t change anything for them, it would be buisness as usual
If anything more people need to be armed, i carry concealed
and think more people should do the same,
dont wanna get shot, dont leave the house without a gun. Simple
your not entitled, to safety, And are 100% responsible for your own safety when you leave your house.
That problem is NEVER going to go away, and guns will always be on American streets. And in peoples hands,
pluss if they banned guns, the cartell in mexico will start to sell them with drug shipments coming into the US anyways
if there money in it, And people want it, They will figure out a way to get their hands on it, Sombody will be selling guns
bans do absolutely nothing, nope. That shooting and the shitty police response is a clear reason why guns should be MORE accessible rather than banned. If the police are gonna stand outside scratching their ass while someone is shooting people, then it further proves that we need to be less reliant on them to save us and take measures to protect ourselves and others. Schools should no longer be gun free zones.
Also, the damn doors should be locked so that random people can't enter schools without a key or showing ID at the office.
by the way, the leftist talking point that "guns at schools would turn them into the wild west" has already been provably debunked by the number of colleges that now allow guns on campus, and even open carry. Shootings have either gone down or remained the same, while crimes such as rape have decreased. Our gun culture of it not been promoted by mass amounts and most of us agreeing we don't need them and limits on them are already enough here in Uk which is why you won't hear about a school shooting in my city ever. So there is no need to ban them here. Ps guns are actually not banned here just in case if someone thinks that.
No.
Ammo needs to be banned - or at most heavily licenced and controlled.
Without ammo - a gun is just an expensive club.
The shitty US constitution was written by candle light by men with muskets. Hence the right to bare arms was really talking about swords and single fire weapons.
Therefore ammo should be "one in one out" and only permitted to be purchased when spent cartridges are returned.I don't know what the answer is to this… banning them may be, but some argue that it would just make people get them illegally. I don't know, but the last few mass shootings these guns were purchased legally. so kind shoots down that argument. No pun intended. Banning assault style weapons is a start. Handguns shotguns I think are ok. But I don’t think any one should have semi automatic or automatic weapons. No need for anyone to have that
UK here. I think you should need a licence to get a gun, and it should be limited as to what type of gun you can carry. Certainly no civilian should be walking around in public with an assault rifle.
And licences shouldn't be easy to get, it should require training and psychological evaluation.Well the fact that heroin’s illegal isn’t enough to stop people from dying at over twice the rate gun violence causes.
https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/injury.htmGiven what happens when the guns are gone, no- it just makes things worse. Think of Prohibition, then square it; that's pretty much the best-case scenario.
No, you need to look at culture and regulation, gradually change the focus of ownership.
it needs to stop being a political football, remove the politics from it.If democrats want to lose the right to keep and bear arms so badly, why not just ban democrats from owning guns? Then everyone wins.
No. That's stupid. Violent crime still regularly happens in every country in the world where guns are banned.
They should start hunting for those illegal gun owners first. Taking them even more seriously then make the gun laws stricter. I won't recommend banning them immediately because that will leave those illegal gun owners behind.
My personal opinion god help me, Absolutely NO Teenager should be able to purchase a Military weapon Period. EVEN by the best Psychology their Brains are not fully developed why do think that the Military goes after them full force?
We need to start training people with proper gun use and eliminate the idea of it being a weapon.!
My country already has and we haven't had a school shooting. EVER. and no mass shooting since the 90's.
NO, guns are not the problem. Problem is with mentality of people.
Switzerland has liberal gun rights, and there are no shootings there.
