+1 yBy law every single gun regulation is illegal no exception. So no, the idea is as idiotically stupid as it is illegal (not that legality has ever stopped the government before).

I've thought and thought about it, and that's the only way to get actual "common sense" gun laws, those that want gun laws, and those that own guns are about equal, demand all gun laws be abolished on one side, unilaterally. New crew served machine guns on sale for $5000, no tax, no background check, no FFL.
Actually make the anti-gun side fight for once to keep a federal law rather than pass a new one. States already pass the gun legislation they think makes the most sense. If say you eliminate the tax and paperwork for silencers on a federal level, do you think every state is going to simply allow them to be sold unregulated? Same with machineguns, or crew served weapons. Actually it's cheaper now to go for illegal crew served weapons than ones sold in the US. Federal law has it so crew served machineguns made after 1980 can't be sold, whatever ones were owned then are the only ones in legal circulation, their price will continue to climb.
Buy a few in another country to simply ship back in barrels of cosmoline and you've brought back something for far cheaper than $10,000 which is about the starting point for machineguns. Anyway, nice picture, if somewhat confusing...18 Reply- +1 y
gun users and non gun user ar not equals.
Gun users are criminals, future criminals or suiciders. 100%

@Alexandrubaschet08 Heh, so then how do we inherit guns? My grandfather must have had an elaborate plot where he didn't die from cardiac arrest, but rather planned it so it just looked that way.
If you're going to have delusions of grandeur, at least make them plausible. If every gun owner went on a killing spree right now, there wouldn't even be grass left. - +1 y
you are thous who are delusionate you have 5.3/100.000 crimes in USA whit all your guns and are place 55 and you are crazy to tell me that is not a problem.
Will UK and my country Romania are WAY behinde you. - +1 y
@Alexandrubaschet08 Pfft, yeah, ok, and guns are restricted in panama and costa rica, they place higher. Stop talking out your ass, more people die in car wrecks, but we only restrict driving privileges in a serious way after a DWI. Going by your logic we should reduce the penalty for 2nd and 3rd degree murder to that of vehicular manslaughter to stay consistent with the numbers. As long as I don't plan on shooting someone, have a drink, then 2 years in jail, get out, and let felons own guns again as long as they have a breathalyzer while on probation/parole.
I like your logic, yeah, that could work. The Dems would eat it up for the "soft" prosecutions.
I am against more gun regulations, with one exception. I do believe people should be taught how to handle, clean, properly load and fire a weapon. While waiting on the background check to return, the gun dealer could take 30 minutes to watch the person shoot the weapon they wish to purchase, fix any issues they see and show the customer how to properly clean and load the weapon. This would give the customer the basic familiarity with the weapon they need and help address any poor markmanship issues the customer may have picked up.
Beyond the tiny crash course I mentioned, I am against more gun regulations. The laws we have are already sufficient. Criminals are going to break the law, no matter the number of laws or the consequences of the laws. More laws will not change the nature of criminals. The background checks gun stores conduct (every state has some form of background check) are the same ones law enforcement can conduct. Changes in background checks will not prevent people slipping through the cracks. Also, making more regulations will only restrict the people who obey the law while putting them at a further disadvantage when defending themselves from criminals. The time to make gun regs would have been during the nation's founding. It is simply too late for gun regs to make a difference because the wrong hands already have the guns.00 Reply
+1 yWell, say if i was an American born and raised (with my current logic intact here even), i'd be a constitutional Republican. In other words, by-the-book. If the constitution says a right to bear (or bare) arms, that's the law or even the supreme law. And the courts usually or are binded by that. Ah well. In my humble opinion. I'm against. Lol.

Thank you. And the 70 million odd number who voted Republican in November 2020. If i was American, i'd be a devout (constitutionalist) Republican. People would always know where i stood. Constitution is a great rock in life to be grounded, you know, certainty in life :) aww's 😍😍
+1 yI don’t think we need more gun regulations I think we should imposed the death penalty for people who commit a crime with a weapon on their body. I think we need to put people who are in possession of a fire arm illegally in federal prison for a life sentence. I think a minor in possession of a weapon should be in prison for 20 years no less and the owner of the weapon put in prison for life. You impose punishments like that your going to cure the root of gun violence. How many these little punks in Chicago and Detroit get busted with a gun and turned back around and out the door. The problem isn’t people who hunt and work a normal job and have a weapon for home protection. There is a reason we need guns in civilian hands and it’s to over throw a politicians who are destroying our country. That’s why democraps want to take away guns from citizen because they know we would take them out.
00 Reply1.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Against. We literally have hundreds of gun laws on the books already. They usually serve to disadvantage the law abiding citizen because criminals don’t follow gun regulations. They purchase guns illegally and use them as they see fit. If you think about it, what regulation has ever made a measurable difference with gun violence in this country?

Umm. Coke, Speed, Heroin all accessible, although illegal. Opiates, other pain meds, other dangerous pharmaceuticals government controlled, still abused and still obtainable. You show a little map, but did you actually go inquire about the details of such? Do you know what the determination to label of a mass shooting? It’s 4 or more injured , where you make it as though all of these occurrences are someone that’s only goal is to kill as many possible for personal reasons. Many of these are acts engaged by criminals that involve criminals or yes bystanders. If it weren’t guns it would just be another way they use to achieve their goal.
If a criminal knows that most likely a person would not be armed due to the laws that’s are in place don’t you think they would be more likely to use a firearm to go fourth with robbing, raping, injuring, etc. the unarmed individual. If in fact the individual was illegally carrying and prevented the criminal act what do you think would happen to them after the cops came. Even though they protected themselves they will have to face the consequences of illegal possession of a firearm…Brainwashed huh, did you know The Who and CDC declared the world to be in a pandemic before COVID, but I doubt you knew. What about heart disease is the leading cause of death throughout the world for over 20 years, claiming 18.5 million lives EVERY YEAR on average for the last for the last 10. But I’m sure your set to believe COVID is dropping people left and right and your putting lives at risk of a suffering death. Mask protects others when you wear it but doesn’t protect you from chance to receive it, that way you can shame people who don’t wear it, am I right so far? It funny how quickly things are easing up after the elect results that contributing influences intended were achieved. Biden is doing no more than what Trump had been doing but I doubt you’d believe it. I’m more than happy to see what else it is we are brainwashed to believe.

+1 yFor. The number of accidental deaths due to unsecured and loaded guns found by children should be enough to have people demanding regulations requiring that guns be locked up. If you're worried about quick access during a burglary, etc, there biometric locks for bedside self-defense weapons that don't require a key or code, just touching the latch. There is no excuse for leaving guns unsecured.

+1 yThere are far too many gun "control" laws NOW which do more to hinder lawful-gun-using citizens than to allow fair prosecution of the unlawful ones. They aren't enforced. Perhaps if the judges wouldn't let "first timers" - or second timers - or third timers- etc. off the proverbial hook, maybe illegal gun ownership might become less desirable. Chicago has (perhaps arguably) the most restrictive gun laws in the United States. Heck in 2015, gun shops in Chicago were outlawed. So of course what city in the US has the highest gun murder stats? Three guesses and the first two don't count.

Even Bullwinkle knows- funny how that works, huh? 00 Reply 10.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I’m for having handguns and rifles for home protection but I’m not for caring around guns concealed weapons and carrying guns in your car because one little argument turns into death. I’d rather fight with your bare fist and live to fight another day. I hear news reports all the time somebody’s shooting somebody in the streets over a dispute a parking dispute or at the drive-through at McDonald’s etc etc over little arguments. You don’t shoot people over little arguments or anything else for that matter
10 Reply5.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. In the US? For. To buy a gun people should have to take a safety course and get a license. Then they should have to prove that they have secure gun storage in their home. Then they can buy a gun. This will at least slow down the angry young men.
18 Reply2.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Nice pic! I'm impartial to it. I understand the pride and right to guns but I also acknowledge that they are dangerous too and she be used properly and respectfully
15 Reply- +1 y
I agree JJ, and that attitude also seems to be the sharp divide between legal gun owners and those who purchase on the black market, especially heaters. There are guns you can buy more cheaply than legal guns because they've been used in a crime before, and now you can use them to commit a crime, and sell or dispose of it cheaply as well.
No one wants to look at that, or why responsible gun owners don't engage in that practice. We're just boogeymen.
1.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. The only gun regulation I support is a national registry of those opposed to gun regulations. Readily available to anyone looking for an easy victim. I suppose that might change a few peoples minds...

+1 yI for background checks... But that is it, no other regulation needed.
36 Reply- +1 y
Yea most places require you to contact an FFL before the sale can take place. My best friend out here both sells guns and manufactures gun parts and any sale absolutely must have a background check. In other words if we enforce the rules that we already have we should be fine
- +1 y
While it is possible to buy a gun that at gun shows, The only time its not background checked is if its person to person.. The booths are required to background check, and so are pawn shops, In fact if they fail to do that they can face huge fines and jail time. Person to person is the only kind of sale that does not require the checks.

+1 yAs I have already stated, guns shouldn't be regulated any more than what they are, but discipline about their usage should be taught by schools and/or government. Once again I urge you to take a look at the Swiss' method and see how well it could work for a country of wannabe Rambos such as the US.
But that's too much government for the land of the free I suppose, so I don't really care if they don't.00 Reply
+1 yYup. Gun laws are meant to oppress. Why do the cities with the most gun restrictions, highest gun crimes rates? ‘ cause gun laws don’t work. They do the opposite of make people safe.

In the case of the USA, all gun laws are unconstitutional.
The meaning of “... shall not be infringed” is clear.11 Reply23.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Where I live there is a law that gives a mandatory jail sentence for possession of an unregistered firearm. This law is never enforced because it is mostly gang bangers who get arrested for it and it would be racist to put them in jail.
If they won't enforce the laws we already have then we do not need any new ones.00 Reply1.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. There are way too many useless "gun control" laws out there all ready. They're all ignored by criminals anyway.
If you want good and effective laws, repeal all "gun control" laws since the 2nd Amendment and let the firearm owners come up with them since 90% of laws were made because of political knee-jerk reactions to unfortunate events that had nothing to do with firearms themselves.10 Reply
+1 yAgainst. Guns are not the problem. Mental health and our society are the problem. Actually, they don’t enforce the laws that are on the books as it is. And actually, we are allowed anything available to the military per the 2A. All “laws” restricting them are in fact, unconstitutional. The purpose of the 2A is as recourse for a tyrannical government. Hunting, self protection, etc are great side benefits, but this is the primary reason for the 2A.

10 Reply Against. Putting more restrictions on law abiding gun owners isn't going to stop the criminals from using guns illegally. Hell banning guns won't stop the criminals. Also more discussion should be directed at what makes someone decide to go nutso and shoot a bunch of people.

I feel we do need strong background checks to prevent criminals from getting guns.11 Reply- +1 y
I think America needs strong background checks that look for more than just a criminal history. They need to check to see if the buyer has suicidal or physiological issues, and if they have ever threatened to harm other people or themselves in social media posts. Law abiding, sane people should not be restricted from owning a gun at all. I know some people will probably point out that my country prohibits gun ownership for most people. My culture is different. It works for us. Criminals don't usually use guns either. One reason is that if you shoot and kill someone, you will do more time for using a gun in the act of a crime than for the murder. 😆
+1 yI don’t mind guns being legal but I’m against gun culture.
14 Reply- +1 y
I mean keep guns legal but end the fascination with them unless it’s for a practical purpose like hunting or target practice but i remember you asked a question about a gun show and I’d be against something like that. It idolizes guns and I think that is unhealthy for society. But owning a gun for hunting or something should be ok.
