Rent is hetting2 higher. Im honestly confused. Wages aren't necessarily going up.

Trending & News What is the value of a dollar?
Well, it USED to be based off of gold, but eventually, people realized there wasn't NEARLY enough gold for the amount of dollars out there, and eventually we abandoned the gold standard (which is still considered controversial by some; it's a bigger issue than I mean to discuss here, save to ask: what is the value of gold?), and switched to the current system, where the dollar has value because everyone agrees it has value; it's essentially the "clap your hands if you believe" Tinkerbell system.
I bring this up to illustrate the difference between "money" and "wealth". An increase in money without a corcesponding increase in the production and circulation that gives it value leads to inflation; this is essentially what took down the Spanish empire: they plundered the New World too thoroughly and got a massive influx of gold without wealth behind it (as the real value of gold-as-currency is in the workmanship, not the metal); they basically succeeded their may into failure. Obviously, the full reality is moce complicated, but that was a major component.
Now, for basically two years, much of the US economy was shut down and very little wealth was being produced. Meanwhile, to cover the costs of people they'd put out of work, absolutely ENORMOUS sums of money (physical and digital) were being printed; April 2020-Aprul 2021 saw the printing of 27% of all dollars that had EVER been printed. The massive disruption to supply chains hurt things shill further, and then Biden toox office and began his war on fossil fuels (here's a hint, Joe: if you're going to haxe a standing system down, you need to REPLACE it with something; this is the same mistake Yeltsin made!), driving up gas prices, which raised the prices on everything else.
Future generations are going to look back on the last few years and say about us the same kinds of things WE say about the people behind the madnesses of the 60's. You've probably got a lot of "So, we people in the 2020s just really stupid, Grandma?" in your future; I suggest you start preparing now. " Yes, dear. Let me tell you about this thing we called 'Tiktok'... "
How can I live better and save money?
When the federal government made a series of decisions to reverse Trump’s domestic energy independence, that raised the price and moral cost of sourcing fuel outside our borders from actual racist regimes worldwide. Raising the price of fuel raised the price of shipping goods via trucks. When the costs to businesses go up, they don’t eat the losses they pass that on to consumers.
Housing is a supply and demand market. When decisions made by the federal government to flood an unprepared market with millions of people a year who have to live somewhere work somewhere and eat something, this competition puts pressure on a finite housing supply, finite food supply, and downward pressure on real wages both because landlords can charge more for the same product in higher demand areas like large cities, and also because a glut of labor means they can pay less and someone will still do it. It’s almost like conservatives have been ringing these warning bells for decades. I’m sorry that you are suffering the consequences of being an uninformed voter, but hopefully this wake up call will encourage you to fix that and tell a friend.
Everything you buy comes on a truck so when gas prices go up so dose everything else. The gov. Wants do get rid of the middle class the best way to do that is to not rise wages or at less not offten enough.
How do you know they wanna do that
Move where?

the Federal Reserve policy was to let inflation run higher, govt created and distributed tons of money globally for over a decade, then covid and more money created and passed out.. prices were rising... then biden came in with expectated impacts to oil... oil price started to rise, then ukraine hit... oil went up way more.
kick the democrats out, maybe you'll get a reprieve in a few years. It is terrible, I know that answer doesn't make life easier. this decade has been really hard for middle class people your age.
Beans and rice are still cheap if you make em yourself. have to make changes.
I am used to eating whatever i want. Its hard to chnage that habit. I guess i have to look into beans rice and bread or hopefully something else. I love fruit.
Also i am poor nt middle class
used to eatign what you want... like what?
I'm sorry to hear that. this has to be really hard on a lot of people. learn to buy in bulk and make yourself helps... we make rice, pasta.
Like processed foods or just eating foods that others prepare at stores. I have to look into that. I love bread hopefully thats a good alternative to rice.
That’s expensive food usually. We make a lot of stuff ourselves… not that it’s cheaper always but it can be and more fresh. We grow some in garden as well can save few dollars. Came from humble means. Ex.. oatmeal better and cheaper than cereal.
Covid and the reaction to Covid. It majorly fucked up the supply chain and gave companies an excuse to raise prices. It will take a few years for prices to stabilize again. Prices go up quickly and go down slowly.
Rent is strongly related to vacancy rate. NYC has very limited space. It's more sensitive than places that have almost unlimited space.
"Wages aren't necessarily going up. So how does that work."
Wages take a while to catch up with costs. Wages in NYC and the surrounding areas have never matched the very high cost of living.
The Liberal Democrats shut down Economies , that effect supply chain and laid people off, then this affected job force and what was in store. Companies had to operate 24.7 to make stuff. The Gov't print money like candy wrappers and this caused inflation. High fuel prices make goods go up. People wanting $40 an hour makes prices go up. Biden raised taxes and that makes prices go up. Gov't laws make prices go up. Insurance increased and that makes prices go up. People that win large sums from lawsuits make prices go up. Democrats allowed black gangs to rob stores and refused to prosecute and that made prices go up.
like Trump did over his stupid wall? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArIxKQgreU0 . prices were high under Bush, as well. besides, inflation is happening all over the world. he had a lot of layoffs under Trump...
@Sabretooth Wall stopped illegals from coming into America. Job done. Now Biden opened it up and allows everyone one in with Covid , Monkey flu, terrorists , and gang members
no it didn't. kids were using it to play. it was a joke... hell, he even brought illegal mercs over to guard that joke of wall. besides, look up the highs and lows--you'll see that illegal immigration was at a low under Obama: cmsny.org/publications/warren-undocumented-2016/ . not to mention how poorly it was constructed... now, we have Biden locking up more than Trump: www.texastribune.org/.../
It's likely caused by rising inflation from increased demand for goods and supply chain disruption, worker shortages, and so on. This could be fallout from what's going on in Ukraine as well as fossil fuel policies put in place by the government.
Worker shortage? I can hardly find a job. I want to leave mine but other companies won't even call me back. And i am talking min wage type jobs mostly!
Because of this braindead fuck

Fuel prices have doubled and the government has printed a ton of money to pay for Biden's Build Back Better plan and the war in Ukraine. This is a double whammy that was totally avoidable.
This world sucks. Doubled? Im glad i can't drive.
Biden, Covid, supply chain problems, the war. It's horrible in California, gas is 6 dollars a gallon.
I am in NYC and peoples rent is rising and im worried. i have to find a new place to live soon hopefully the rooms aren't too expensive.
I wish you good luck. Here it's the same, food is expensive too. The government doesn't help or do anything.
Thank you. I wish you luck as well. Food is rising too! Its like many pizza places, delis, even just packaged food want to charge like 25 or 50 cents more.
You're welcome. Here prices have doubled on many. things. Thank you, I wish you good luck
Wow... Thats just crazy. The government needs tostart caring about its people.
Yes but the system is all screwed up. I wish you good luck though :)
Because inflation is running rampantly out of control
It's all part of the NWO plan for a one world currency or possibly even a social credit system (where you will be culled for dropping too low on points)
I am happy when Jesus will take me out this world.
Because biden and his band of tards want gas prices to rise. So to push electric cars.
It’s called inflation! At 8%+ you should expect that and more.
Inflation isn't the cause of rising prices. It's simply the name for the process.
Do you know what they are?
It's inflation biden regime spending too much money
On what
Because of Biden’s policies
I dont get it
I dont know much about those terms but is it because of the climate change global warming nonsense?
he's dumb.
Greed# its just pure greed.
