the media says 3%. my estimate is 50%, but what's it been for you? compared to 5 years ago, how much more expensive are things really? i was looking at spray paint in walmart, i remember it was 99cents 5yrs ago. now it's at least $3. i went into a store. looked at some pants in the earlier part of the pandemek, and saw a $50 sticker over a $40 original label
It's 3% on the economic index but in terms of real prices it's easily 100% to 300% higher. A $30 grocery bill is almost $100 now, and that's like a day of groceries. A $5 sandwich is $16. A burger is $18. A $5 pizza at Pizza Pizza is $12, advertised for $5 it costs you $12. Any kind of ordinary takeout is at least $20. Breakfast for 2 at a diner is $50 to $70.

McDonalds when it first opened in the 1950s or so had a McMenu consisting of a burger, fries and coke, that was sold for 35 cents (or pennies). In 2009 I remember buying a McMenu like that for 6 EUR. Today in 2024 I can get the same McMenu for 10 EUR.
Money becomes increasingly worthless over time.
I'd say it's at least 50%! When Trump was in, I could get a pack of hamburger for $3 to $6. Now it's $9 to nearly $12! I could get a gallon of gas for $1.86. Now, it's about $3.50!! I'm pretty sure that, had been allowed to have his second term, we'd be back to paying about 75c for gas, by now!!

Prices have doubled in the last 3 years. I look at stuff in the supermarket and cannot believe how expensive groceries are. A box of cereal is 7 bucks. It is crazy. My wife drops 200 bucks a week at the supermarket and it is only the two of us.
It depends where you are. In Argentina, for example, inflation is close to 100%. In the USA, this year (2024), it's about 3%. Last year (2023), it was higher.
You ever notice how prices are just always forever increasing? I think the economy steadies, but the businesses out there never seem to be like “great news! We’re back to the OLD prices!” Lmao….#1 thing to know in America: business owners will jerk you any chance they get. These people are not your friends, not as a client, not as an employee. Absolute fucking crooks, lmfao.
50% on meat and 20% on butter are the only things I've seen in regular circulation
Gold and silver have remained pretty stable, market manipulation maybe
Cigars have been wild some are up 100% in the past 5 yearsIt's going to vary from person to person, depending on their spending. Hard to imagine it's as high as 25% for anyone.
Yeah I have no idea where they get those numbers, cost of living is up at least 50%
gone up too much too fast and needlessly. thank you biden and democrats. sarcasm.
There are other factors for price increases besides inflation.
Doesn't matter how much it's gone up any increase is to much.
Biden lies and tries to tell us the economy is doing great.
5% as of December 2023 in the UK!
I’d say between 10 and 25 percent.
I'd guess somewhere between 30 and 40 percent
