Whats the most crazy inflation related price increase you've seen?

i saw one last night which was just plain nuts , honestly it doesn't seem real but it occured really late. is this gas station on the highway near where i live and sometimes i stop in there to buy a late night snack if i'm returning home.

i often buy a snack size bag of potato chips/tortilla chips , the small version not even a full bag. and it always cost $2.50 but when i went to the till last night they wanted like $4.50 or something i couldn't believe it and though it had to be an error but the cashier tried it again and even tried another flavour of chips all came in at the same price. the full sized bags at this station are now $7.50

you can still buy the same sized bag of chips at the dollartree here for $1.25 so i doubt the gas station is going to be selling many at that price

like $4.50 for a snack sized bag of chips seems totally insane is all that comes to mind

Gas stations are always more expensive. That's just a given really.

I've noticed everything creeping up in price. Domino's pizza is the biggest criminal. Their prices are absolutely insane these days. And they started charging for delivery which they never did before.

true gas stations aren't a place to find many bargains but never paid $4.50 for a snack size bag of chips anywhere ever. thats just insane

i haven't been to dominos lately but noticed some of the other chains are more money for same thing , the little caesars has a lunch special , a large slice in a box with a pop , used to always come to around $7.50 but now closer to $9

I remember that pork bone soup was as low as $10 dollars in 2011 and now it costs $18 per person. And they give you less free vegetables to go with your order too. Red lobster fish and chips used to be $15 and they used the good fish and the humongous portion sizes and now they use muted fish that has almost no flavour, portion sizes are around half or 1/3 and only singular and prices are $3 more then before.

I actually heard someone complain about that exact same thing this morning. They went to Publix and saw 2 for 1 salsa so they put it in their cart, but the chips were $7.50 for a bag so they bought the salsa and were going to go to Wal-Mart today to buy the chips for cheaper so they could eat the bogo salsa.

I have seen deodorant jump from $3 and some change to $4 and some change to $5 and some change to $6 and some change to $7 in a matter of 1 year and a few months.

That's just deodorant alone, other items have jumped several cents up to $1 and some change.

It kinda makes you feel like you are being gaslighted to a degree and have memory lost as the prices changes a lot within a short time period.

i have noticed deodorant was way more expensive , i don't even buy the same brand i got a year ago as its way too much now , was buying another one instead
