OK - so there a few different topics here - - - -
First- nice pic of the honey wagon !
Why do we complain? Some people like to vent! Complaining won't really help all that much. Finding healthy recipes that use more reasonably-priced ingredients would help.
Personally, I make meals with a target of $1.00 per serving for main dish, $0.25 per serving of a side dish, plus $0.25 per meal for "the pantry" (seasonings, etc.) . I may have to re-examine that amount, but I will still strive to make that new target with each meal. If I can do that, then my whole budget will come in OK, by definition. Also, I work at a Food Pantry, and most of the time there is such an over-abundance of food that "just doesn't look right", etc., I typically end up getting veggies for free for the week!
As far as Ramen, my doc wanted me to give that up due to the sodium content. darn the luck - - - -I liked the stuff.
You wanna give up the sodium content of Ramen… don't add the flavor package they put in the bags. Simply doing that will cut 95% of the sodium content. Then, add whatever flavoring you want... Even ranch dressing
It isn;t just the cost of groceries but it is the cost of everything. It has gotten to the point where I don't even argue about it anymore. Just turn over my credit card and pay the bill at the end of the month. If you have a family there is only so much you can cut back on food. If you drive to work every day you have to put gas in your car. Back to school clothes will also be more expensive. Try cutting back on that?
Use less toilet paper, and ketchup to mask the taste of leftovers.
Well just think, Bite me Biden is raising the amount for food stamps, but not Social Security for the old folks who have less money than you and who also have to eat. This while they put up illegal immigrants at $125 a night motels.
The "ThriftyFood Plan" from the feds - the lowest level calculated- is just a hair under $90 a week for a senior couple. The only time I even come close to spending that in a week is for Thanksgiving, Christmas or Easter. Re Social Security- It does get raised- that way we have enough to pay for the increases in Medicare!!!
You get used to what you've been used to and giving it up is hard...
But Ramen... ewww... Angel hair pasta and some pesto are far better choices... A one lb bag of pasta costs 149. You get plenty of meals from that and you can add all the stuff that's in Ramen and veggies and make it far better...
It's tough to give up your little luxuries... But that is where we are right now...

I hear what you're saying and just like always it's timing I went grocery shopping last night and for London Broil lose $23 for gas it's $4.50 a gallon milk is $3 a gallon I mean it is what it is but with our economy the way that it is right now people not working I do understand you like I said this is just another part of the gym to where we're headed I would say buy food where you can make more than one meal out of it kind of sucks that you can't mean to go gallivanting in your car anymore because gas prices but I believe what you're saying I hear what you're saying but I think everybody should pay attention to where we're headed where we're going and start thinking about that too just to be protected just to be prepared
Just make sure you eat all your left overs.
... And if people are starving in Africa, they should move to France, right? It's not like anybody's had their income cut off or anything.
And if you're advocating for better health from cheaper food, I advise you to take a closer look at Ramen's nutrition information. Eat that stuff every day and they'll be measuring your blood pressure in PSI.
Well you didn't seem to catch my question was supposed to be facetious and not serious?
The sodium in ramen will kill you, and a lot of people, especially the homeless, due to inept Democrats, already have trouble affording to eat, if you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth that’s good for you, but most people are struggling just to eat.
It’s basically a lot people with a big family and you can only cut back so much , I guess people need to start growing their own food too
everything is going up because of economic mismangaement by the current administation. They cause shortages and inflation as well as devaluing the American dollar
Yeah I got pumpkin, potatoes, tomatoes, chilli, cucumbers, and more growing in the garden.
You planning on a lot of pumpkin bread / pie?
Nope, I like a good roast.
Not everyone is YOU. It’s not just now. Use some forward thinking. You use foresight ever?
Do you ever notice that a question was meant to be funny and not serious?
Sorry, I’m a serious person
Well lighten up some.
took my mom to grocery store , 4 bags , not even full, with some coupons and she paid $131.00
What did she buy, caviar?
milk , bread (Hawaiian ) veggies, . No steak or meat or eggs. Do you not eat missy? What do you buy at grocery? Hmmmmmmmm?
I dont even buy groceries but it is getting too high
If you're already having money issues, then anything costing more just increases your problem.
They also drink ice for a snack.
What’s wrong with it is the amount of salt
