Hard pass.
If 18 is considered a legal adult, then absolutely nothing, including driving without a learner's permit should be permissible before that (with special exceptions made in the case of teens working to support their families), and likewise there shouldn't be anything legal for any citizen gatekept past that age, either. Given the general lack of maturity and stunted development of kids, I'd be much quicker to support moving more things to 21 than anything down to 16. The only reason Democrats would want that is because they know 16yr olds are impressionable idiots with little to no world exposure or understanding of what they think they support, and would very likely vote Democrat due to both indoctrination in schools and knee-jerk emotional thinking absent a larger world view; it has nothing whatsoever to do with freedoms.
If 18 is to be the legal age to serve in the military, then it should also be the legal age to purchase firearms, no ifs or buts. The "well military guys are trained!" argument does not hold water - some of the stupidest sh*t I've ever seen involving guns or gun ranges and basic safety violations were committed by "trained" and sometimes even "experienced" soldiers. I'd be much more in favor of teaching basic firearms mechanics and safety in schools (which used to be a thing in the US) to at least the same barebones standard required for a CHL (which is more than you receive in a formal setting in military training too) than even considering reducing accessibility for legal, law-abiding adults who can also pass a background check. This could also effectively make concealed handgun licensing obsolete and pave the way for nationwide constitutional carry laws.

Democrats, who are bought and paid for by the Gun Control Lobby (which is led by New World Order globalists), are determined to squash 2nd amendment rights by any means possible. They tried challenging the 2nd amendment in the Supreme Court but lost. So they've simply been trying to whittle it down ever since.
Fortunately, a lot of Americans values the rights that they have.
There are many local and state pro-2a organizations. Here is a partial list of national organizations.
Liberal Rifle Association, Gun Loving Liberal, Liberals for Gun Rights, Democrats for Gun Ownership, Blue Steel Democrat, Pink Pistols, Armed Equality (LGBTQ), Women Against Gun Control, Mother's Arms, 1 Million Moms Against Gun Control, Liberty Belles, Babes with Bullets, Women's Firearm Network, A Girl & A Gun, Second Amendment Sisters, the National African-American Gun Association, Black Guns Matter, Brown Girls With Guns, Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (JPFO), Jews Can Shoot, Law Enforcement Alliance of America, Law Students for the Second Amendment, Doctors for Responsible Gun Ownership, National Shooting Sports Foundation, Gun Owners of America, National Association for Gun Rights, Second Amendment Foundation, American Firearms Institute, Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, Every 2nd Matters, Firearms Policy Coalition, Rifles and Reason, the National Rifle Association, the International Association for the Protection of Civil Arms Rights, and Firearms United.
I think it would be best time raise the the age to 21 to buy a gun. We don't need teenagers carrying around assault weapons. A gun to be used for protection and for sport only. And no weapons that are used for killing massive amounts of people all at once should not be sold anymore period! Those weapons are not necessary. The only outcome of those weapons is if you are going to shoot many people all at once.
As for the age to vote, it should be 18. I would rather it be 21. You can't even buy a pack of cigarettes in California unless you are 21.
We could go on and on comparing age to just about anything anymore.
I believe the age is 25 before our brains are fully developed. We need to consider this when picking what age a person is old enough to do each individual thing, i. e., buy a gun, get a driver's license, vote, buy alcohol and cigarettes, etc. One age does not fit all!
Stupid is as stupid does. Like all the so-called assault weapon bans, like what assault weapons one cannot even go out and buy one. They are already banned and have been for decades.

Buying is different than ownership. It's already 21 to buy pistols, I had a pistol, and a couple shotguns when I was 16, private sales are a state to state thing. Any federal law or executive order won't fly.
ATF background checks and ID are only required for arms dealers making 10k or more a year. Anyway, I'm sure changing the age will impact all those 17 year old gangsters who for sure legally purchased their firearms.Person from Scotland here - no one can go out and buy a gun as easily as you can in America, and everyone is ok with that, we don’t have school shootings/mass shootings and the voting age is 16. I think lowering the voting age to 16 is a good idea, as I know when I was 16 I knew more about politics and what was going on in the world than the majority of the elderly population where I live who have voted for the same party for 50 years. Teenagers are being taught about politics and kept up to date, they are smarter (in some cases) than most people think. In terms of guns, I don’t think anyone of any age should be able to buy a rifle that easily. I think they should raise the age and also make it a lot more difficult to get hold of guns.
Wrong! 16 year olds can preregister to vote, but cannot actually vote until they have turned 18. As for guns, there are probably many different thoughts on age requirements among Democrats. But they are trying to at least require that checks be run on all people trying to buy weapons. Checks such as background (criminal activity), sanity (not allowing those who are not mentally competent to buy them), registering (so that if a gun is found to have been used in a crime, law enforcement can at least find out who purchased the guy), etc. But it is not likely that they will get such laws on the books. Republicans do not want women to have the right to terminate a pregnancy, even when it is caused by rape, or is an ectopic pregnancy which will end in the death of the fetus, and probably the mother, or when the fetus is still just a non-defined collection of cells. But they refuse to allow their "right" to carry weapons anywhere so they can kill multitudes of people.
16 to vote... no way. that's crazy
I'd say 13 you can get a musket, that is what the constitution would have been committing to at the time written. Kids gotta eat and they get one shot at a deer or muskrat. as well, if they don't like their govt, they can go and protest... with muskets.
18 they can get a six shooter.. self defense. But they can go to military and after doing that, they can other weapons. odd...
21 for pistols with clips, training required. they can drink and shoot now.
35 for semi automatics
45 for Bazookas
65 and a psych test for tanks
95+ for nuclear bombsI agree with the rifle one. An 18 year old who is still in high school does not need a rifle. He/she can concentrate on studying and getting good marks so that they can secure a good job and provide for their family in the future.
The voting one? Absolutely NOT. 16 year olds should NOT be given the right to vote. I remember when I had just turned 16, I was immature. I have changed a lot in the past year, so the voting age should remain 18.Forget Democrats or Republicans, the US has a serious issue of mass shootings, and while access to Automatic weapons definitely makes it easier for these mass shootings to occur, a deeper understanding of those who carry these shootings out is also needed.
There needs to be a more broad-based study into why such terrible events occur, what social or economic situations lead a person to carry out such horrors. There is no easy answer to the whole gun law thing. personally? I would keep selling guns but ban any form of bullets (Unless licensed ). The right to bare arms still apply, it just means everyone will have to shout BANG instead of shooting each other.
That makes perfect sense. Democrats want gun control and they want to lower the voting age because teenage voters would usually vote for democrats.
No I don't think 16 year olds should vote-the gun thing, how can you tell 18 year olds they can't own guns, but they can get drafted or join the army/navy/marines at 18🤷🏼♀️
You left out that that 16 year old voter, doesn't have to be an American citizen anymore. And keep in mind that voter ID is racist.
Them morons make no sense. They are just as fucked up as the Republicans.
They way the play off each other. You would Democrats and Republicans were the same partyThere should not be an age restriction.
“… shall not be infringed” means what it says.
What matters is training, not age.
All three of my children were competent with rifles, pistols and shotguns by the age of 10.It is 18 to vote where I am at. The hard argument that will happen is you can go fight for your country at 18 and have a gun then, but you can’t buy a gun at 18
I think you have to be 18 to vote. But raising the age to 21 might placate the anti gunners for awhile.
As for the first - the problem is with people's mentality, not the age. I don't believe rising the age would change anything.
Second - no, it doesn't make sense. Most people at 16 know shit about politics.I think both are bad ideas, especially lowering the voting age.
Yea, I wasn’t thinking about voting at 16. I was thinking about what was for dinner and track. 🤣🤣🤣
I agree with the rifle age increase. Who knows, it may help.Don't really get the point if their parents have guns it doesn't change anything... Too their parents can buy them the gun so
I agree, make the age for getting a gun higher and yes give them rights to vote I don't see the arm of that they have a conscious mind
I am not even touching this with a 10 foot Pole lol, suffice it to say that a juvenile shouldn't own an assault weapon. It's bad enough the Idiot parents that do don't have trigger locks on their weapons and store ammo separately!
