Him: Well not exactly. Asian isn't a race. To be specific, except for north Asia, Asians are caucasians

Her: Asians are not Caucasians. Just cause their skin is white doesn't make them white. They're Asian which is completely different then white like me.

Yes, Asian is a race and it's also defined as such in the census. There are four races of people, where Asian is also referred to as "Mongoloid." Then there's white/Caucasian, black/negroid, and Australoid. Just because Asian people are naturally lighter skin does not mean they are Caucasian.

But not everybody likes to deal on factual information, so it depends on who you ask. For example, in the USA, there is a narrative here where POC are completely disadvantaged in every regard. When it was revealed Asian-American people are rather successful in life and excel academically due to just working harder to succeed, woke people have designated them as being white enough to benefit from "whiteness." So, technically, they aren't white. They're just close enough to being white people.
