Should people with low IQs/the unintelligent be allowed to vote?

With an ever-growing population there's too many people to accurately account for when it comes to voting.

A large majority are unintelligent, uninformed, vote with their emotions, or vote based off monkey see monkey do.
All these are unhealthy for a country and stops advancement.

What do you think?

Honestly I have a bit of technocrat in me.

Ideally we would have some sort of voter qualification test asking about the seats of government and including curve balls based on media-propagated misconceptions. And to keep out people who take things at face value. I've heard too many people say "ehh, we won't pay for universal healthcare, the corporations/government will", or I shit you not, "I voted trump because he says he will make America great again and I want that". Oh OK, maybe I should have voted Biden because I want to build back better! That's a catch phrase, not a policy.

But the logistics and moral issues of it would be absolutely atrocious. AI generated questions to favor one party, specific use of wording to disadvantage non-native English speakers. Different tests for regions with different racial backgrounds. No good way to do that.

When I voted, there were also other people I had to vote for who I didn't know anything about. So I just voted red across the board

All I know was I was voting for trump based off how well the economy was and some of his policies.

Yeah I didn't know much about the down-ballot candidates either. I wish the elections would emphasize these, too.

I've generally done 3rd party for president and blue down-ballot. Though if I were somewhere like California, I'd probably go red down-ballot just because they have too much one-party rule.

This time I more or less had to hold my nose and vote Biden. Felt like choosing between a psycho at the wheel and someone asleep at the wheel. I don't regret how I voted, but I strongly dislike the options we usually get.

This is something that you can't help and yes I think you should be allowed to vote. But I would assume if they were not able to there would be a LOT more Republicans since more often then not they are coached on who to vote for if they are mentally handicapped but someone with a just lower then average IQ yea. No problem.

I understand what you are saying but a democracy works by majority vote no matter how stupid the majority is. Hopefully people will smarten up when thigs get totally screwed up by the current administration. It is like evolution in a way.

I think once someone has been in office, a booklet should come with the ballot that tells everything they voted for and against while in office. Which bills, etc.
