Hmm this one is a hard one to answer. I can distrust them and still respect them as long as I still believe they have honorable motives.
I realize not everyone views the world the same as me and that's ok. But I do have core beliefs that I WON'T compromise for anybody. I can't respect ANYBODY that doesn't share those CORE beliefs.

It depends on context. I respect my mom as a person and trust her to make a good meat soup but I don't trust her to make good decisions for me. It's variable from individual to individual.

I don't respect women or other strangers. En masse per say. I only respect people who help me, and are on my side.
