You can't go on any social media platform site or reddit without them mentioning how bad trump is in the comment section or blaming all the problems in america on him. I'll answer you question honestly, the Leftists/ Liberals are still obsessed with Trump because he was in a position of authority they were unable to upend (usually those of authority can be removed via Leftist media pressure, e. g. Coach Del Rio), he didn't apologize (Leftists thrive on eliciting apologies, which eventually justifies the offenders removal), and he did things they didn't like without compromising/ kowtowing like Republicans have been doing for 30 years. They want to not merely make it impossible for him to run again- as they'll lose progress they've made toward a complete social cesspool- but they want to make it impossible for anybody like him. Leftists are fine with lukewarm Republicans like Romney existing, but they are unwilling to tolerate an actual opposition, merely a lighter version of their own party (Democrat-lite= Republican).
Because he poses a unique danger to US democracy. He’s the first president in history to attempt to cling to power in defiance of the voters and the constitution. He’s undermined faith in our elections without evidence. His followers are very cult like in their devotion to him and will swallow every false claim and conspiracy he decides to float, as well as his authoritarianism. None of this is an endorsement of Joe Biden, who clearly is an ineffective leader. However, Joe Biden will not stir violence. He will abide by the voters will. He is not making false claims about election integrity. He will not pressure fellow Democrats to change vote totals in his favor. He is not pushing for voting restrictions. We are well beyond arguing about policy here. This is about preserving our constitution and the democratic process. Donald Trump is bad news.
To be honest, I have heard plenty of democrats/liberals annoyed by the same thing (the obsession for trump). It is the mainstream media and democratic party that shifts the blame to Trump so they won't be held accountable.
Of course, those same democrats don't believe Trump or the republican party can fix the many problems in America. But they also know focussing on Trump won't solve the problem either.
They know he would win hands down in 2024 . They are filled with panic. That would mean two more Conservative Justices on the Court. The economy would turn around over night. Inflation would drop by half and gas prices would be at $2 a gallon by 2nd year.
Because the left has embraced zealotry and extremist points of view. Anyone who disagrees is branded a heretic and subject to a witch hunt and burning at the stake.
